He has often stated that because he joined Bollywood at the age of 18, he couldn't give time to his kids. However, the actor is making up for it.
We have often seen Aamir spending quality time with his multi-talented daughter, Ira Khan, and she loves posting glimpses of the same on her social media handles. For the unversed, Ira is Aamir and his first wife, Reena Datta's daughter. Unlike her father, Ira doesn't want to be an actress and loves being behind the camera. In 2019, Ira had made her directorial debut with a theatre production, Euripides' Medea.

On April 27, 2022, Ira Khan took to her IG handle and proved that her father, Aamir is a perfectionist not in just acting but in whatever he does. Sharing adorable pictures with Aamir, Ira revealed in her caption how her father 'claimed' that he could do makeup and the end result really impressed her. Ira's caption could be read as:
"Guess who did my make-up? It's interesting when your father walks up to you and claims he can do your make-up better than you can... and he turns out to be right. Who needs YouTube tutorials?!"
While Aamir was busy building his career, his personal life went for a complete toss. In an interview with News 18, Aamir had revealed the biggest regret in his life was when he was not available for his daughter, Ira. Talking about the same, he had stated:
"It’s my biggest mistake (not being able to spend enough time with kids). But I won’t blame my profession for it. Today, Ira is 23 but when she was 4-5, I wasn’t there for her. I was busy with films. Every kid needs their parents because when you are a child you have your own fears and hopes. But when she needed me the most, I wasn’t by her side to hold her hand when she would get scared. And, I know that moment will never come back."

On December 27, 2021, Ira had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted adorable pictures from her Christmas celebration with her father, Aamir. The father-daughter duo had looked their stylish best and Ira had captioned the pictures as:
"Merry Christmas. Part 2. Bloopers in story!"
