However, the one romance she is most recognised for is the one with her on and off again husband and actor, Richard Burton. He proposed her with an Asscher-cut Krupp Diamond ring, which was certified as a Type II diamond– chemically the most pure diamond with exceptional transparency. It was a stunning 33.19 carat diamond. The ring was valued at a little over 8.8 million dollars and was auctioned off in 2011 for an undisclosed amount.
