19-Yr-Old Influencer Bride, Ran Away To Marry 12-Yr-Older Groom, Breaks Silence, 'After I Eloped..'

Famous influencer, Devapriya's name made headlines after a wedding picture of her surfaced on the internet. Later, her brother, who had previously managed her Instagram account and helped shape her influencer journey, revealed that she had eloped with a 31-year-old man. Now, Devapriya shared her side of the story.

Devapriya admitted she eloped, but no one influenced her

Taking to her Instagram handle, Devapriya made a new Instagram account and posted a picture note. She admitted that she got married on December 17, 2025, at the age of 19 while pursuing Law. She shared that her husband is a 31-year-old psychologist. She stated that they met two years ago, as their families were friends. She stated that their relationship was planned, and it grew on its own. They started dating after she turned an adult. 

She dismissed the allegations that her husband influenced her decision to marry early. Devapriya revealed that she tried telling her parents about her relationship, but they never understood her feelings and were not ready to approve their union or marriage. She added that after she eloped, she informed her father that she was going to get married. She also talked with her mother after her wedding. The 19-year-old influencer added that she didn't want to forcefully get married and live an unhappy life. She stated that she will continue studying as her in-laws consider her their own daughter. And she will focus on her career as an actor and dancer.

Later, the influencer bride shared two photos from her wedding, and penned how they didn't run away, but walked towards love. In the photo, the two were seen posing with each other. In another, the groom was seen tying mangalsutra around the bride's neck.

19-year-old influencer bride's brother revealed the truth about her sudden wedding pictures

After the 19-year-old influencer's bridal look went viral online, her followers began asking whether she got married. On December 23, 2025, the influencer's former Instagram account was managed by her brother. The brother shared a long note and revealed how he was the one scripting and ideating his sister's journey as a social media influencer. He mentioned receiving a lot of questions about his sister's sudden marriage plan.

Answering the question, the brother revealed that his 19-year-old sister eloped with a 31-year-old man from her college. He added that the man is a psychologist, yet he didn't understand that a 19-year-old's decisions and thoughts can change with time. He wrote:

"We didn't know about it. She eloped with him from college. This was completely unexpected for us. He's 31+ and a psychologist, a 19-year-old's thoughts and decisions can change with time and that is something he should have understood."

The brother further revealed that the family never forced the influencer to marry. Their only concern was for her to finish her education, make her own career, and build a better life. He stated that the family never supported Devapriya's relationship with the 31-year-old man. They believed it wasn't the right age for her to marry. The post stated that the man proposed to his sister when she was 17 and in class 12. He questioned how a grown man could like a young girl.
