According to social media reports, Josh Davis and RaeLynn's romance began in 2012. The pair had first met at a church when she got fame post appearing on The Voice. Although Josh Davis and RaeLynn met in a church, their relationship did not start off immediately. Josh Davis and RaeLynn got married in 2015 after meeting in the church three years earlier. RaeLynn had told PEOPLE that John had slid into her DMs before they met at a mutual friend's wedding. In her words:
"I’m so thankful that God gave me my person really at a young age,” she said at the time. “I needed a solid person in my life — and he’s easy on the eyes."
RaeLynn once, in an interview, revealed that her relationship with Josh Davis became stronger when he was away serving in the US Army. She shared that when he was gone for basic training, she was writing him letters every day. After that, they used to meet one another after 14 weeks. In her words:
"After that 14 weeks [apart], when we saw each other, we cried and we both were like, ‘We can now get through anything."
It is worth mentioning that a report by PEOPLE also had earlier revealed that Josh Davis and RaeLynn had never considered divorce as an option. The singer had confessed that, out of her personal experiences, divorce was not something she considered as an option. It wasn't for her, as she believed that love meant hard work. RaeLynn had always credited her husband Josh Davis for pushing her to pursue music. This is because after having a daughter she was not sure if she wanted to return back to music.
