The team managed to pull off NFL Week 1’s biggest upset over the Los Angeles Chargers. Notably, Mike is the first full-time coach in Cardinals history to win a season opener since Don Coryell in 1973.
Despite the 26-14 win over the Chargers, Mike is already preparing for their next game, where they will face the Seattle Seahawks in Week 2. Now, as fans wait to see if Mike can lead the team to victory again against the defending champions, the focus has shifted to Mike’s personal life, especially his wife, Lauren LaFleur.
Mike LaFleur has followed in his father's footsteps, who has served as a head coach at West Middle School in Mount Pleasant. The same is true for Mike’s brother, Matt, who is currently the head coach of the Green Bay Packers. However, compared to them, Mike’s wife, Lauren, is someone who has always stayed far away from sports.
For those unaware, Mike and Lauren tied the knot over a decade ago, in July 2010. This was the same year as his brother tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend, BreAnne.
Despite being the wife of a famous NFL head coach, not much information is available on Mike’s wife, Lauren. This is because they prefer to keep their personal life private. She also does not appear to have a social media account, reflecting her desire to stay out of the spotlight.
Mike has often confessed that it is his family that is the most important thing to him outside of work. As per reports, Mike and Lauren have two children. Just like his wife, Mike has also kept his children away from the spotlight as much as possible.
Most recently, Lauren and their children made a rare appearance in front of the media when Mike was introduced as the head coach of the Cardinals during an NFL news conference. They were joined by the rest of Mike’s family, including both his parents and his brother, Matt, his wife, and their kids.
Mike and his brother, Matt, are well-known faces in the league. While Mike's father, Danny LaFleur, served as the head coach at West Middle School in Mount Pleasant, his mother, Kristi LaFleur, has previously served as a softball and basketball coach. In addition to this, Kristi also used to coach the track and cheerleading teams at Mount Pleasant, Michigan.
Being the parents of not one but two NFL coaches is not an easy task. As you can expect, Kristi and Danny find it difficult to sometimes support both their sons at the same time. However, Kristi tries to overcome it. When asked about the friendly rivalries in the family, Kristi noted:
“It's different because I'm the mom, and as a mom, you want your kids to be happy.”
Matt, for his part, also tries his best to support his younger brother, Mike LaFleur. When he was introduced as the Cardinals' head coach, Matt sat in the gallery beaming. Gushing about Mike, he said:
“I thought I was going to get more emotional than he was. I’m just really excited for his opportunity. I think he’s earned it, and he’s done it the right way. He’s been himself throughout this whole journey.”
