Pawan Kalyan's next movie is 'Ustaad Bhagat Singh' and it seems like the actor took a pay cut for the film. Here are all the details.
Pawan Kalyan's next offering is Ustaad Bhagat Singh, which is all set to clash with Ranveer Singh's Dhurandhar 2 on March 19, 2026. Well, the anticipation for both the movies is all things high, but Harish Shankar's directorial, Ustaad Bhagat Singh, is also in the limelight due to the cast fees. Discussions related to how much the star cast has charged is being spoken about.
A report by Republic World.com revealed that Pawan Kalyan has charged Rs. 25 crore for the movie, which is actually lower than his current fee. Well, in 2025, there was buzz that the actor was offered Rs. 170 crore for the movie, which would have made him one of the highest-paid stars in the south movie industry. This has been the highest amount offered to a Telugu star for a non-Pan India movie. Pawan Kalyan's stardom is unmatched, as the report further revealed that due to his good relationship with Mythri Movie Makers, he decided to take a pay cut. The production house had supported the actor when he faced a financial crunch during the shoot of his movie, Hari Hara Veera Mallu.
Pawan Kalyan reportedly showed gratitude to Mythri Movie Makers and did not take a higher fee for the movie. Ustaad Bhagat Singh has already created a strong buzz among the sea of fans, and the actor is charging Rs. 25 crore, indicating a profit-sharing deal. This is because the movie has already experienced numerous production delays, and the producers have faced financial pressures, according to reports.
Well, at one end, it has been years since Pawan Kalyan's work was seen on the big screen. This is because the Powerstar is busy in politics apart from being the Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. His political duties have delayed his films, creating pressure on producers who have already invested in crores. Now, Pawan Kalyan will be seen sharing screenspace with Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna. A report by the FilmyFigures shared that Sreeleela took around Rs. 2.5 to Rs. 3 crore for the movie, while Raashii Khanna reportedly charged Rs. 1.5 to Rs. 2 crore for Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
Pawan Kalyan addressed the delay in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, and in a Hyderabad press conference, he shared that, post Gabbar Singh, Ustaad Bhagat Singh was the movie he wanted to do with Harish Shankar. Pawan Kalyan then suggested to moviemakers that, if anyone wanted to approach him for movies, they should first speak to Harish Shankar and Mythri Movie Makers. The way they planned the shoot made it comfortable without his public duties being affected. Initially, they had planned a different story, which changed when the pandemic began, and then he entered politics and took on public responsibilities. Pawan Kalyan added:
"Without affecting my duties, we wrapped up the film in a very short time — within 40 to 45 days. I worked only about five to six hours a day. Harish planned the schedule brilliantly. Ustaad Bhagat Singh gave me the confidence that I can continue doing films."
Raashii Khanna, who has an important role in Ustaad Bhagat Singh, revealed that she has always wanted to act with Pawan Kalyan since the beginning of her career. That dream came true with Ustaad Bhagat Singh. She also shared that the movie is recreating the magic of Gabbar Singh.
