Sydney Sweeney and her 'Euphoria' Season 3 co-star, Zendaya, have sparked rumours of a feud again after the series finale, following a major snub made by the former.
Euphoria Season 3 has been generating significant buzz ever since its highly anticipated finale dropped at the end of last month, on May 31, 2026. Naturally, this has also put the focus on the show's lead stars, Sydney Sweeney, Zendaya, and Jacob Elordi. For those unaware, Sydney and Zendaya have often sparked feud rumours, and now that the show has come to an end, a major snub made by the former has reignited the rumours again.
The Euphoria Season 3 finale premiered on Sunday, May 31, 2026. Following this, Sydney Sweeney, who plays the role of ‘Cassie Howard’ in the series, took to her social media to share a number of photos alongside her fellow main cast members. Most of these photos were taken behind the scenes. In the snaps, Sydney could be seen posing with Jacob Elordi (Nate Jacobs), Alexa Demie (Maddy Perez), and Maude Apatow (Lexi Howard). The actress even shared a picture of the late Eric Dane, who played ‘Cale Jacobs' in the series. However, one person who was noticeably missing was none other than ‘Rue Bennett’ a.k.a. Zendaya.
Sydney captioned the set of pictures, “It's called…acting.” With her caption, many believed that she was seemingly hitting back at critics of her raunchy role. Many fans praised her acting in the comments, while others addressed the elephant in the room about how Zendaya was absent from the photo dump. One social media user wrote, “Not one picture with Rue, I'm crying. Zendaya do not like you.” Another hit back at her caption and wrote, “Zendaya did the acting for you and everyone.”
Another user asked, “There is no Rue?” One comment read, “There's no photo in this slideshow with Zendaya, I'm so confused.” While some simply added GIFs of Zendaya from the show, one fan theorised, “Zendaya doesn't like [Sydney] because of her values.” On the other hand, die-hard fans of the actress came to her defence and explained that the reason Sydney and Zendaya did not have any behind-the-scenes pictures was not that they were feuding but because they “barely had any scenes together.”
It was back in November 2025 when The Daily Mail reported that Sydney Sweeney and Zendaya were “locked in a bitter feud.” According to the outlet, the alleged feud had stemmed from their differing political views. For the uninitiated, Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican voter. During her American Eagle campaign, she caused severe controversy with critics accusing her of racist undertones. As per the outlet, Zendaya had refused to do press with Sydney for Euphoria Season 3. They allegedly even refused to stand next to each other at events.
The rumours of their feud increased further when Sydney missed an Euphoria cast photoshoot in March 2026. However, a report by Page Six claimed that the reason Sydney was missing was that she happened to be shooting a scene at the time. Despite this, the very next month, in April 2026, the duo once again could be seen avoiding each other at the show's season premiere. Opening up about how most of their colleagues were already aware of their feud, an insider told The Sun:
“Euphoria bosses are all too aware the pair do not get along. There were tensions way back…Their paths barely crossed during the making of Season 3. During the press tour, any interactions between the pair are being kept to a minimum to avoid any awkward encounters on camera. There is a complete ban on journalists asking about tensions between Zendaya and Sydney.”
