Bengali actress Sraboni Banik passed away at the age of 41. Sraboni appeared in films such as Alo (2003) and Chander Bari (2007). She was a part of several famous Bengali serials like Bhutu, Lalkuthi, Ranga Bou, Godhuli Alap, and Sohag Chand. Over the years, Sraboni had cemented her name in each block of the Bengali industry. It was on December 29, 2025, when the actress bid farewell to the world, after her prolonged battle with lung cancer. It was only a few weeks ago that Sraboni's son, Achyut Adarsh took to his social media handle and sought financial help for his mother's treatment.

Sraboni Banik passed away after her prolonged battle with lung cancer

Sraboni Banik had been suffering from lung adenocarcinoma or lung cancer and metastasis for quite some time. If the reports are to be believed, over the last few days, Sraboni's health deteriorated, and she was hospitalised. It was on December 29, 2025, when Sraboni breathed her last around 9 AM. Director Babu Banik took to his social media and paid a tribute to the actress. While speaking to AajKal, he said the actress had been away from work for a long time and had been suffering a lot in the last few days. Sraboni's last rites will take place today, on December 29, 2025, at Nimtala Crematorium.

Sraboni Banik's son earlier talked about his mom's battle with cancer

Earlier, in a social media post, Sraboni Banik's son Achyut Adarsh talked about his mom's battle with cancer. In the long emotional note, Achyut Adarsh shared that as his mother completed his first chemotherapy session, he could see no defeat in victory, as her tired smile reflected fire or survival. He penned how her mother's journey was not about surviving cancer but was to redefine what it means to live, transform suffering into strength, and pain into purpose.

He also said that people often see their mothers as 'invincible,' but when illness hits, it shows their humanity, resilience, and spirit, even in fragility. Achyut's note could be read as:

"Today, as my mother completed her first chemotherapy session, I saw not defeat, but victory. Her tired smile carried the fire of survival. Her journey is no longer only about fighting cancer—it is about redefining what it means to live, to transform pain into purpose, to turn suffering into strength."

It was only a few days ago that her son, Achyut also took to his social media handle and asked for financial help for his mom's medical treatment. He shared that they were in need of Rs. 12 lakh. On the other hand, it was only a few months ago when Sraboni herself reached out to ABP News, while asking them not to talk about her health condition much, as she didn't want it to become a topic of discussion. As per ABP Digital, Sraboni was hopeful that she would be fine soon. Her passing sent a ripple through Tollywood, leaving her fans, well-wishers, and family members heartbroken.
