The 26-year-old Pune-based businessman was killed by Chetan Chaudhary, the lover of his fiancée, Siya Goyal, ahead of their wedding. What was initially reported on June 18, 2026, as an accidental 400-foot fall from Lohagad Fort was later exposed as a planned murder. Amid the ongoing probe into the horrific crime, some shocking details about Siya and Chetan's activities before Ketan's death surfaced.
Siya Goyal and her lover, Chetan Chaudhary, killed her fiancé, Ketan Agarwal, by pushing him from the top of Lohagad fort. However, they weren't successful in the first attempt. As per reports, they hatched the same murder plan and were about to execute it in the same place, but at that time, Ketan escaped death narrowly by holding onto a tree branch. Just days before the failed murder attempt, Siya and Chetan engaged in sexual intimacy three times, as reported by Lokmat Times. The new information allegedly came out during the police's questioning of the accused lovers regarding the horrific case.
The same Lokmat Times report mentioned Siya Goyal, who initially agreed to marry Ketan Agarwal, later regretted her decision when she found out he was bald and wore a wig. The information regarding his hair is based solely on the report and has not been verified by any credible source. Siya allegedly didn't want a "takla" (bald) life partner and thus, her attitude towards Ketan shifted. She no longer deemed him suitable for marriage. It was probably when she gravitated towards her lover, Chetan Chaudhary once again.
Siya Goyal's parents were in favour of their daughter's wedding to Ketan Agarwal; however, they needed to know Siya's opinion first. They made her wishes a priority, and her mother, Pooja Goyal, asked her more than 10 times whether she had consented to the marriage. As per Pooja, her daughter replied positively, and stated that she was single and willing to marry Ketan. Siya lied to her mother about her lover, Chetan Babulal Chaudhary and said that she was not seeing anybody at the moment. Her mother recalled her saying that she liked Ketan Agarwal and mentioned:
"We asked Siya at least ten times whether she liked Ketan and wanted to marry him. Every single time she told us, 'Yes, I like Ketan. I want to marry him. I don't have a relationship with anyone else."
Ketan Agarwal and his fiancée, Siya Goyal, were engaged in February 2026 and were scheduled to get married in a lavish ceremony in November 2026. However, Siya was entirely unwilling to go through with the marriage. It was an arranged marriage, and 20-year-old Siya was clearly unhappy with it, but pretended to be okay in front of others. Her heart belonged to someone else as she was in a relationship with Chetan Chaudhary. The duo's call records revealed that they had been in close contact for at least three years, logging over 2,000 calls in just the seven months leading up to the incident.
Siya was apparantly scared to tell her family about her boyfriend, reportedly because his profession or financial status did not meet her family's standards, and she feared they would not support their relationship. When interrogated by the police about why she did not elope with Chetan Chaudhary, she stated that Siya refused to do so because she believed it would bring social disrespect to her family.
