Amid that, Duffey's ex-wife, Stephanie Ramsay, has made some surprising revelations about their children not being interested in Sara Gilson's assets.
The legal battle surrounding the estate of late Jeremiah 'Shawn' Duffy continues to heat up. However, amid that, his ex-wife has made the shocking revelation that their children are not interested in anyone else's assets. Ramsay has revealed that they just want the keepsakes their father intended for them. In a conversation with TMZ, Ramsay said she is aware of the recent court filing by Sara Gilson's ex-husband, Lyle Landers.
However, despite the legal filings, Stephanie Ramsay has asserted that her priority remains protecting her children during an already difficult time. She spoke to the news outlet and revealed that her focus remains completely on her and Shawn Duffey's children. Ramsay also asserted that her children don't expect or seek to get anything from Sara Gilson's fortune. She was quoted as saying:
"We are aware of Lyle's filing. However, I'm focused on our kids during this time. My children don't want anything of Sara's, haven't asked for anything of hers and never expected anything."
In the same conversation, Stephanie Ramsay further revealed that her children have made it clear that they only want some of their father, Shawn Duffey's personal belongings. Ramsay admitted that the kids wanted something of sentimental value and whatever was left for them by their late dad. Concluding the conversation, she also asserted that most of Duffey's assets were sold by Sara Gilson in her final days. She stated:
"They simply want their dad's things that have sentimental value and the little he left them after passing. Most of it was sold in the past six weeks by Sara."
It was previously reported by the news outlet that Sara Gilson's ex-husband, Lyle Landers, had filed court documents seeking to block Shawn Duffy's "beneficiaries" from profiting from the circumstances surrounding the brutal killing. In the filing, Landers had alleged that the court should prevent anyone from benefiting from the gruesome tragedy while legal issues surrounding the estate continue to unfold.
In the same conversation with the news outlet, Stephanie Ramsay has now alleged that her children are not focused on money or property that belongs to Sara Gilson. She stressed that they only want the personal items left behind by their father that hold emotional significance. Previously, Gilson's ex-husband Lyle Landers had also commented on the former's relationship with Shawn Duffey in a conversation with PEOPLE and said:
"She had been stuck in a relationship where domestic abuse seemed 'okay'. I had begged her for five years to get away from him. I had offered to help her, in any way I could, to get away from him. But he seemed to have some sort of control over her, and she couldn't seem to get away."
For the unversed, Gilson and Shawn Duffey were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The case appeared to be a murder-suicide. However, the investigation is still ongoing in the case. The incident took place less than two weeks after Sara Gilson posted a TikTok video accusing Shawn Duffey of being a paedophile. She had also obtained a protective order against him. Unfortunately, it could not save her from the ill-fated tragedy.
