After intense speculation surrounding Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos' decision to call off their wedding only five weeks ago, the QB's ex-fiancee has broken her silence on the prenup buzz.
Dak Prescott and his former fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, have confirmed their split just five weeks ahead of their wedding in Italy. The rumours had been making headlines in the past few days after fans noticed a few photos of their bachelor/bachelorette events missing from their respective social media handles. Amid ongoing speculation about a rift in their relationship, many believe a strict prenuptial agreement caused it. Now, Ramos has stepped forward to address the growing buzz.
The breakup between Dak Prescott and Sarah Jane Ramos quickly made waves on social media, immediately becoming a trending topic after comments about prenuptial agreements began circulating online. Recently, the conversation intensified when Terrence Parsons Jr., the brother of Micah Parsons, shared a cryptic post, writing, "If it's really love, a prenup should be no problem, right?"
The timing of the post has fuelled rumours that it could be a jab at the NFL star's broken engagement. Given Prescott's massive career earnings as a prized quarterback of the Dallas Cowboys, many users on the internet believed that the couple may have had some disagreements around protecting their financial assets before marriage. Some wonder if the couple fought at their Bachelorette party, or Sarah refused to sign the prenup.
Despite the speculation, Prescott's ex-fiancée, Sarah Jane Ramos, directly shut down the popular prenup theory. On March 9, 2026 (ET), she took to her Instagram Stories and clarified there were no prenuptial disagreements. The wine specialist wrote in her note:
"This had nothing to do with a prenup. I hope we can put that rumor to rest now."
Recently, Ramos' representative spoke up about the broken engagement, emphasising that both she and Prescott are “both heartbroken that they’re not getting married." Speaking about committing to their children despite the cancelled marriage, the rep added:
“They love their girls, and they’re committed to raising their children together in the most loving and positive way. It’s still shocking for them since this happened so recently, and they ask for privacy while they sort everything out.”
Despite the sudden change of plans, sources close to the couple say the decision was mutual. TMZ had previously reported that Prescott and Ramos had been facing relationship woes for a few months, and things escalated after an alleged "blowup argument" at their joint bachelor-bachelorette party in the Bahamas. However, Ramos' rep has now clarified that no dramatic argument or major fallout was leading up to the breakup. Instead, both felt it was the right decision at the time.
The split came as a big shock to fans, largely because the couple had already made significant wedding plans. The Cowboys QB and Ramos, a wine tester by profession, were set to tie the knot on April 10, 2026, in Lake Como, Italy, with around 250 guests expected to attend. However, reports say that the guests have received emails informing them that the wedding has been called off. The message reportedly read:
“As many of you know, our wedding is currently scheduled to take place in Lake Como, Italy, on Friday, April 10, 2026. It is with heavy hearts that we privately inform our attendees that we have made the very difficult decision to cancel our wedding. We deeply apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and we welcome your prayers.”
Dak and Sarah were first linked in September 2023. The couple shares two daughters, Margaret Jane Rose, 2, and Aurora Rayne, who is only 9 months old. After news of their split surfaced, many fans expressed concern for their children. However, Ramos’ representative said both parents remain committed to lovingly raising their daughters together.
For now, it looks like there was no prenup disagreement, unlike popular theories. What are your thoughts on their split?
