Bullock has been on a press tour with hours left until the film's release, and now she sat for an interview where she reflected on the time she hid her newborn baby in a bag. Yes! A bag!
At one point, no one knew Sandra Bullock was a mom to a newborn baby, and the actress was adamant about keeping him a secret. So, when the paparazzi came for the Jesse James scandal, she zipped baby Louis into his car carrier and sealed him inside a hockey bag. She then walked to the car as if she was carrying ordinary luggage. For those who don't know, Bullock adopted her son Louis in late 2009, months before several women went public about affairs with her husband, Jesse James.
When the scandal broke, Sandra Bullock realized she had to get out of the house before the cameras arrived, and that too with a secret newborn no one knew about! In an interview with Jennifer Aniston, Sandra talked about the time, and said:
"I had hockey bags for stuffing clothes in for travel. So I put him in his car carrier, put it in the hockey bag, and zipped the hockey bag around him. Then I carried the hockey bag to the car, as though I was just carrying any random hockey bag."
Sandra Bullock further called that stretch of time a "really dark" phase. She recalled how 2013's Gravity became her most meaningful film because it mirrored her phase, alone in a box, no one to talk to for nine hours a day. The actress eventually finalized her divorce from Jesse James in 2010. She later adopted her daughter, Laila, in 2015, and she still fiercely guards her kids.
Sandra Bullock said she had to be extremely careful around the people she let in. She revealed that she had to work like the CIA because people who meant to harm her only saw her private information as a means to bring them cash. She was quoted as saying:
"You have to operate like the CIA. If you're surrounded by good people, you'll be fine. But if people near you mean you harm, no matter how covert you are and how much pre-planning you do, your privacy is information that brings them cash."
Talking about their film, Practical Magic 2 marks Sandra Bullock's return to the big screen after the death of her longtime partner, Bryan Randall, in August 2023. Sandra previously appeared in the 2022 film The Lost City and Bullet Train. The star recently opened up about Bryan's death and his private battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.

For those who are not aware, just days after Sandra Bullock won the Academy Award for the Best Actress in March 2010, tabloids published allegations that Jesse James had been unfaithful. Multiple women alleged relationships with James, which led him to issue a public apology and check into a rehabilitation facility.
