Recently, Sana Khan addressed the trolls, who claimed that her husband, Mufti Anas Sayed brainwashed her to quit the acting industry.
Sana Khan was once a popular actress, who was well-known for projects like Jai Ho, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Bigg Boss 6 and more. Despite having a successful career, she quit the film industry in 2020, after getting married to Mufti Anas Sayed. However, a few users felt that Sana was brainwashed by her husband to leave the industry. Well, now the former actress addressed those rumours.
Recently, Sana Khan and her husband, Mufti Anas Sayed had a candid conversation with actress, Rashami Desai, during which the former actress opened up about the claims against her husband. Sana shared that after her marriage, she was going through several changes in her life. Amidst that, she herself decided to leave the world of glitz and glamour. And her husband guided her towards it. In her words:
"The situation was such that major changes were happening in my life. I was literally transforming into a different person. And this was not something caused by my husband, it was something I wanted for myself. He was the one who guided me in that direction."
Sana Khan further revealed that many users had accused Mufti Anas Sayed of brainwashing her to quit acting; however that was not true. Sana shared that she left the industry because she wanted inner peace. She was quoted as saying:
"Nobody can brainwash you; it’s never like that. I wanted peace. A person may get money, fame, name, and respect, but eventually, they keep searching for inner peace. They say that when your surroundings aren’t right, your decisions also tend to be wrong. As time passed, I learned a few things, and that’s why I value my relationship with him so much. I keep telling my husband that I could have never found anyone better than him. It was indeed a tough decision, but I went for it."
During the same chat with Rashami Desai, Sana Khan opened up about her private wedding ceremony with Mufti Anas Sayed and revealed that except her mom and dad, nobody knew about her wedding or even the name of the groom. She also mentioned that her extended family first met Mufti Anas Sayed in a mosque. Sana Khan shared:
"When our marriage was finalised, it was a top secret, nobody knew except for my mom and dad. Nobody even knew the groom’s name. When I was applying mehendi, the mehendi artist asked me what the groom’s name was. I told her to leave it blank, we’ll write it next time. When my cousins saw him in the mosque, they called my cousin sister and said, ‘This is Maulana Anas'."
Sana Khan was once one of the most popular actresses in Bollywood. She rose to fame with Bigg Boss 6. In 2020, she shocked her fans by deciding to quit the industry as she wanted to focus on her faith and inner peace. Within a few weeks after leaving the industry, Sana announced her wedding with Mufti Anas Sayed. In 2023, the couple embraced parenthood for the first time. Later, in 2024, they announced their second pregnancy. In January 2025, they welcomed a baby boy, Saiyad Hasan Jamil.
