"If me speaking out today might save someone else from going through the same situation, because a mother should never have to find their child this way. If I can say one person is helped, I think that’s what RJ would expect."

Further, in the interview, Dyna revealed that she had suggested therapy to her son for the past three months. However, Mitte told her he was okay and could handle it. She now wishes she had taken him 'screaming and yelling' to therapy. She added that if she had known something was off, she would have given her life for RJ. She said:

More about RJ Mitte

RJ Mitte rose to fame with the Emmy-winning series Breaking Bad. While he got a breakthrough with the show Breaking Bad, the success did not lead to as many acting opportunities as he had hoped. However, little did people know that the Breaking Bad actor spent years privately challenging Hollywood to give disabled actors more opportunities.

As per reports, Mitte lived with cerebral palsy. A few days ago, The Daily Mail shared some text messages that RJ exchanged with his friend over the past eight years, from 2017 to 2025. The 34-year-old actor opened up about some uncomfortable encounters with casting directors in a text message dated April 7, 2017. He faced rejections due to his disability.

According to RJ, casting an actor with a disability could add depth to a character without requiring the entire storyline to revolve around his disability. Sometimes Mitte felt frustrated as the casting directors judged him on his physical limitations rather than his talent. In fact, he also wanted to call them out but eventually decided not to do so. Recently, a friend of RJ revealed that he struggled financially. He made his weakness his strength.

Rest in peace, RJ Mitte. We offer our heartfelt condolences to his family.
