She was only four years old when she started accompanying her father to the club matches, and it did not take her long to join the club to play matches. During her formative years, she was a bowler, and by the age of 14, she had already made her debut in Bengal's senior women's team and became a front-line batter. She eventually developed into a wicketkeeper of the state team. Richa made her T20I debut in January 2020, at the mere age of 16. In 2023, she was a part of India's U-19 team for the T20 World Cup.

Richa joined Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2024 in WPL, and it was the same year that the team secured their win. Sharing that they executed enough to score well and how their lives changed post the win, Richa said:
"Obviously, life has changed after the World Cup win. Everyone is happy, and wherever we go, we receive a warm welcome from the public, and everyone is now getting to know the names of the players in the team. People now know who is Deepti Sharma, who is Richa Ghosh and who is Shafali Verma, which is a great thing that has happened after the World Cup win."
Richa Ghosh is currently 22 years old, and no, she's not married. While people have been wondering if she has someone in her life, hinting at the romantic angle, there's no such information available as of now, and given that she's so committed to her professional front that began at the mere age of 14, it has been assumed by cricket fanatics that Richa's entire focus is on her career. About her family, while her father, Manabendra Ghosh, is a former cricketer, her mother, Swapna Ghosh, is a homemaker. On the other hand, she also has a sister named Somashree Ghosh.
