On December 1, 2025, Samantha got married to filmmaker Raj. Within six months of marriage, Samantha sparked pregnancy rumours. In a recent interview, Samantha shared that the pregnancy was a 'surprise' for her. A while back, the mom-to-be shared pictures where she was seen celebrating her traditional godh bharai ceremony with her husband.
A while back, Samantha took to her Instagram handle to share some beautiful moments from her traditional godh bharai ceremony. It included sacred rituals including Kalaa Aavarana (Sri Kalpam), abhishekam and other ceremonies. In some pictures, Samantha was seen wearing a mustard yellow Anarkali suit. In the first video, the Family Man 2 actress was poured holy water, while mantras were chanted. The ceremonies were performed for the well being of the mother and her baby.
Later, Samantha changed her dress and wore a gold silk saree. Along with the wholesome videos and photos, the actress described the traditional spiritual ceremony that she experienced as a mom-to-be and also explained why it was meaningful to her. Samantha mentioned that she has always respected Indian traditions, every though she doesn’t understand the meaning of every ritual. She believed the ancient rituals, mantras and chanting have a deeper spiritual significance.
During the ceremony, a priest of the Srividya tradition explained to Samantha what each ritual meant and this helped her understand that every mantra, offering and action had a specific purpose. One of the rituals was Kalaa Aavarana (Sri Kalpam). According to the Maa Inti Bangaaram actress, Kalaa Aavarana is a specialised ritual from the Srividya tradition that honours the 94 kalas or divine qualities of Devi through the seven chakras of the mother-to-be.
During this ritual, sacred water and mantras were used to cleanse, energise and spiritually bless the mom-to-be’s chakras. Samantha shared that the best part of the ritual was that it treated the mother-to-be as a Devi. She wrote:
"What moved me most was the way the mother is seen through this ritual. She is honoured as Devi herself, as the sacred creator through whom another life is taking form. It is a blessing for the child growing within her and also for the woman who is being born into a new version of herself."
Samantha explained the meaning of the Devi Khadgamaala, which includes the names of the deities and divine energies associated with these nine enclosures that are chanted. She shared that the chanting is believed to create a protective field around mother and child, offering the little one a sacred samskaara, a spiritual imprint formed through mantra, even before birth.
However, the thing that made the ceremony even more heartwarming was Raj Nidimoru’s participation. In one of the pictures, Raj was seen gently touching Samantha’s chin, which is a tender gesture often performed during South Indian traditional godh bharai ceremony to offer blessings, affection, and positive energy to the mother-to-be and the baby.
Samantha and Raj tied the knot according to the sacred Bhuta Shuddhi Vivaha ceremony on December 1, 2025. The wedding ceremony was held at the Linga Bhairavi Temple inside Isha Yoga Centre early in the morning on December 1, 2025. Samantha looked beautiful in a red saree on her big day. Later, the actress shared a carousel featuring some heartwarming moments from their private wedding ceremony. According to reports, there were only 30 guests in attendance in Samantha and Raj’s wedding.
