Soon, emergency services reached him, and he was rescued in time. As per reports, on August 3, 2026, Perez was harming himself with a knife and making apparent cuts on his body and his face had blood all over it.
The news portal, Page Six, obtained the 911 dispatch audio, which had the recording of Perez Hilton's hospitalization. It revealed the horrific details of the gossip blogger trying to harm himself. At 10:41 p.m. on Tuesday night, a suicide attempt was reported. The portal chose not to share the graphic details they found.
Soon, multiple units quickly took action and reached Perez's house at around 11 p.m. to make entry into the house with police officers. They were at his house for several hours, and authorities were dispatched after they received multiple calls from people about a person livestreaming acts of self-harm on social meida.
The police shared in the statement that the individual has been safely recovered and has been transported to the hospital to receive immediate medical attention. The statement can be read as:
"The individual has been safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention. The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office Crisis Response Unit and Licensed Mental Health Professionals are also on scene providing support and resources to the individual’s family."
Coming back to his suicide attempt, he was home alone at the time of the livestream, and his TikTok account has been suspended. For the unversed, Perez is a father of three children, Mario, Mia, and Mayte. So far, Perez's representation shared that they are aware of the news circulating online, but they are not able to get in touch with Perez. However, their main focus is on his health and the well-being of his family. His team said:
"At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him. Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further."
Earlier this year, Perez, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., made headlines as he was hospitalized after taking flu medication on an empty stomach. He got an ulcer, and then a perforation and then sepsis. He stayed in the hospital for three weeks.
Redditors also expressed their concern over Perez's livestream. One user pointed out that it was the most horrific thing to watch live on YouTube. The comment can be read as:
"They got him, he was just loaded up into an ambulance. I’ve been watching a live on YT; someone was listening to the police scanner. It cut to a news clip, and while they couldn’t confirm it was him, the news clip did say it was someone live streaming and was self-harming, and it’s the same area so it’s him. I’ve already said this a few comments down, but again.. Please don’t go looking for the video. It’s graphic and disturbing, goes beyond self-harm and is self-mutilation. Whatever you’re thinking it is, it’s worse than you could possibly imagine."
