Christina Ashten Gourkani’s case has recently witnessed a new development. The online personality was well-known for her resemblance to Kim Kardashian. Notably, Christina passed away on April 20, 2023, from a cardiac arrest, which happened shortly after she underwent a cosmetic surgery. As per the latest update on the case, cosmetologist Vivian Alexandra Gomez has been sentenced to four years for illegally using butt injections on Christina, which led to her death.
The sentencing happened a few months after Vivian was found guilty of felony involuntary manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license. While Christina’s case is in the spotlight once again, keep reading to know more about her!
Christina Ashten Gourkani was 34 years old at the time of her death. Born on October 22, 1988, she was popular for her online content. Notably, she developed an interest in acting during her childhood and participated in various theater competitions. Christina was brought up in an Iranian-American family. She was active on Instagram with more than 600,000 followers and built a big fan base on OnlyFans.
Christina’s family confirmed her death on a GoFundMe page, which has been deactivated now. The family revealed that the news was informed to them by someone close during the morning hours. Notably, the person on the other side reportedly claimed that Christina was dying. The family also wrote on the page description:
“She was such a caring and loving free spirit that always took the time to bring a smile to anyone’s face she crossed paths with. She was the kind of person that would kneel down and talk to children at eye level, she searched for the lonely person in the corner and made them feel special as she has such a gift of connecting with people.”
Christina Ashten Gourkani’s surgery happened inside a hotel in California. Vivian Alexandra Gomez allegedly used illegal silicone butt injections, following which Christina became unwell and suffered respiratory failure. Vivian was with her fiancée at the hotel, who immediately contacted the authorities when she became ill.
For the unversed, Vivian was taken into custody in April 2023, and charges were imposed on her. Following Vivian’s arrest, board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Michael K. Obeng, said that the kind of injections used on Christina can migrate throughout the body, resulting in complications like infection, deformation, and more. He further stated:
“As with any injection, it can go into your bloodstream. And if it gets in the bloodstream, it can block the blood vessels and cause necrosis [or dead tissue]. So that’s a huge danger.”
Before Vivian was found guilty in March 2026, Steve Wagstaffe, the San Mateo County District Attorney, claimed that Christina Ashten Gourkani had a pulmonary embolism, which emerged from an infection. Moreover, Christina’s blood had traces of silicone. The District Attorney’s Office also confirmed in a post on X (formerly Twitter) that Vivian was convicted of felony involuntary manslaughter and practicing medicine without a license. Although Vivian was out on bail, she was taken into custody after being found guilty.
