New information related to Jim Thornton’s suspension recently emerged. Notably, it was a result of his activities in a chat room when he was on a flight. He was using lifeline.chat, a platform for anyone who has some pedophilic thoughts. On the other hand, Jim’s attorney, Allison Hart, claimed that her client was supposed to open a suicide prevention website, 988lifeline.org. She said that Jim lost someone close to him a few years ago and the person had committed suicide. Following the incident, Jim became active in suicide-prevention advocacy.
Furthermore, Allison stated that Jim also started spending a lot of time in the chat rooms, aiming to help people who were dealing with suicidal thoughts. Addressing the website that Jim visited, Allison said that it does not have anything inappropriate, such as child pornography or any pedophilic content.
Allison even claimed that Jim never saw or downloaded any kind of inappropriate content on the website. TMZ also obtained some images, which hint that Jim allegedly visited the chat room for around 57 minutes. However, he left it immediately after realizing the reality behind the chat room. The texts in the chat room seemingly referred to themes like pedophilia, masturbation, and child pornography. One of the texts also addressed a restaurant where underage children can be found.
A fellow female passenger immediately spoke to a flight attendant about Jim’s activities. The pictures were also shared with the crew, and the captain informed the authorities about the same, following which law enforcement met Jim Thornton at the gate once the plane landed.
