In a recent interview, Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie shared their working experience in the film, 'Wuthering Heights'.
Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie are hogging the limelight as they are all set to bring a centuries-old tragic love story to the big screen. For the unversed, the film, Wuthering Heights, is scheduled to release in theatres on February 13, 2026. Earlier, in July 2024, director, Emerald Fennel announced her plan to adapt Emily Brontë’s timeless classic, Wuthering Heights, on her X (formerly Twitter) handle. While the film is gearing up for its theatrical release, Jacob and Margot got close both on and off screen.
In a recent interview with Fandango, Jacob Elordi shared that he and his co-star, Margot Robbie, have a 'mutual obsession'. He mentioned that when a person gets the opportunity to share screen space with an actress like Margot, they would make sure to stay close to her. He called Margot an 'elite actor.' He was quoted as saying:
"We have a mutual obsession. If you have the opportunity to share a film set with Margot Robbie, you're going to make sure you're within 5 to 10 meters at all times, watching how she drinks tea, how she eats her food. She's just like an elite actor."
In the same interview, Margot Robbie revealed that whenever she works on a project, she develops a close bond with her co-stars and becomes co-dependent on them. She mentioned that when the project work got completed, she felt devastated and wished that it had never ended. She highlighted that while working with Jacob in Wuthering Heights, she felt the same way. By the third day of filming, she started looking for him on sets whenever he was not in front of her. She added that when Jacob was absent, she felt lost and compared it to a 'kid without their blanket.' She was quoted as saying:
"I'm so codependent with people I work with, and I love everyone so much, and I'm always that person who's so devastated when a job's over and I never want it to end. I think I developed that quite quickly with Jacob, too. I found myself starting to look around to see where he was. I was really unnerved and unmoored. And I felt quite lost, like a kid without their blanket or something."
For the uninitiated, Margot Robbie plays the role of 'Catherine,' and Jacob Elordi plays the role of 'Heathcliff'. In a recent interview with Vogue, Margot recalled how her co-star, Jacob, made her feel special on Valentine’s Day in 2025. She mentioned that The Kissing Booth actor filled her room with roses, and it was all things adorable. She thought how sweet it was of Jacob, and probably he would be a 'very good boyfriend'. Margot added that it was not just the sweet gesture but Jacob’s efforts to do things just like the character he played on-screen, which was praiseworthy. She was quoted as saying:
"You made my day and, as Heathcliff, filled my room with roses, and it was so cute. I remember thinking, oh he’s probably a very good boyfriend. It wasn’t just the gesture of the roses, it was the thing written from Heathcliff, and that little tombstone thing."
Wuthering Heights is a romantic drama directed by Emerald Fennell. Apart from Jacob Elordi and Margot Robbie, the film also stars Hong Chau, Shazad Latif, Alison Oliver, Martin Clunes, and Ewan Mitchell. The upcoming film is loosely inspired by Emily Brontë’s 1847 novel, Wuthering Heights. The tragic romance between 'Heathcliff' and 'Catherine' is the heart of Emerald Fennell’s film, Wuthering Heights.
