In the post, Tiger mentioned how he and Lindsey became close over the last few months. He requested privacy and expressed his wish to continue their relationship as an 'ordinary couple.' He wrote:
"Something nice that’s happened off the course was meeting Lindsey Vonn. Lindsey and I have been friends for some time, but over the last few months we have become very close and are now dating. Following this on the same day, the Olympic ski champion, Lindsey, shared a note on her Facebook account and confirmed her relationship with Tiger. In the note, the ski racer mentioned that their relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over the past few months. She didn’t share more information about their relationship and expressed a desire to keep things low-profile. She wrote:
"I guess it wasn’t a well-kept secret. But yes, I am dating Tiger Woods. Our relationship evolved from a friendship into something more over these past few months and it has made me very happy. I don’t plan on addressing this further as I would like to keep that part of my life between us, my family and close friends. Thank you for understanding and your continued support!"
After Lindsey and Tiger’s split, there were a lot of speculations regarding what went wrong in their relationship. According to a report by Daily Mail, Tiger’s alleged cheating led to his breakup with Lindsey. "After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Later, Tiger also spoke about their split. He shared that both of them mutually decided to stop dating. He also shared the reason behind their split. Sharing the news on his website, Tiger said, "Lindsey and I have mutually decided to stop dating. I have great admiration, respect and love for Lindsey and I’ll always cherish our time together. She has been amazing with Sam and Charlie and my entire family. Unfortunately, we lead very hectic lives and are both competing in demanding sports. It’s difficult to spend time together."
