Joe Locke who plays the story of 'Charlie Spring' was a 17-year-old debutant in 2022, when he was selected for Heartstopper Season 1. He had given more than 10,000 auditions. Today, thanks to the success of Heartstopper, Joe is one of the promising Hollywood actors. He even appeared in Marvel's Agatha All Along. Further, he is set to appear in biographical film Elsinore alongside Andrew Scott and Olivia Colman. The movie is expected to follow the life of the actor Ian Charleson.
Kit Connor was a popular actor before signing the much-loved series; however, it was his role as 'Nick Nelson' that turned him into a global star. For the unversed, prior to Heartstopper, Kit had appeared in Rocketman, Little Joe and more. After Season 1, he got the opportunity to be a part of Warfare and Romeo + Juliet. Elle impacted a certain community, but I just want a role which will be able to impact everyone. Heartstopper has had such a good response, and it makes me think that I can do anything."
William Gao was one of the best parts of Heartstopper. His character, 'Tao Xu' rose to fame for being a loyal friend to 'Charlie'. Apart from this, his chemistry with 'Elle' generated a lot of buzz on social media. As per a report by People, after the success of the series, he went on expanding his music career. As of 2026, he performs with his sister. He is also set to appear in the upcoming movie, Becoming Capa.
Starting off with Corinna Brown a.k.a 'Tara Jones', she already was a part of the industry; however, Heartstopper turned her into a star. After the series, she went to play the role of 'Gemma' in the much-loved show, The Summer I Turned Pretty. As of now, she continues to raise awareness about mental health.
On the other hand, Kizzy Edgell, who brought humour and energy to the series, was only 18-year-old, when the makers started shooting. Today he is 22. Even though not much is available about him, in an interview with Into More, Kizzy shared:
"I sometimes feel like Darcy is my friend — like, my best friend — so I only want the best for them. And I am really happy that I get to be Darcy. That is crazy to me. I’m not a method actor, but also growing up — I was 18 when we started; I’m 22 now — with this character, it feels like we’re joined at the hip somehow. And I personally never want to let Darcy go. I would want to play Darcy forever if I could."
Tobie Donovan, who portrayed the character of 'Isaac Henderson' seems to focus on establishing his place in the industry as of now. After the success of Heartstopper, he appeared in the series named Lynley. As per IMDb, he also made theater debut in the play, Paper Cut, directed by Scott Hurranat.
Coming to Rhea Norwood, she essayed the role of 'Imogen Heaney', who initially had feelings for 'Nick'. As of now, she has landed another Netflix project. Reportedly, she will next be seen in Pride and Prejudice and in Selena Gomez's show, Only Murders In The Building. Lastly, Fisayo Akinade is expected to appear in HBO's drama, First Day on Earth.
