'Dhurandhar 2's teaser left the viewers disappointed as it was only the post-credit scene, shown in Part 1. But, now a recent report mentioned that JioHotstar had a massive deal before its release.
Aditya Dhar's movie, Dhurandhar, didn't just become a successful one, but actually became a turning point and a massive breakthrough for Ranveer Singh, Aditya Dhar and Akshaye Khanna. From the beginning towards its OTT release, the movie didn't let a second go to waste in bringing the attention of the viewers. Aditya Dhar's spy-thriller will release Part 2 of the movie on March 19, 2026, and even before that, reportedly, the movie has already bagged a record-breaking deal with the OTT platform on which it will be released after theatrical release.
Earlier, reports claimed that Netflix had the streaming rights for both Part 1 and Part 2 with Rs. 65 crore each, totalling Rs. 130 crore, but now reports are suggesting something else. So, let's have a look at Dhurandhar 2's roar even before the theatrical release. Recently, a trade analyst report by Bollywood Hungama states that JioHotstar has sealed a deal with Aditya Dhar, securing the streaming rights to Part 2 of Dhurandhar in exchange for Rs. 150 crore.
This is surely massive. For the unversed, it was reported that before the release of Part 1, Netflix had Rs. 175 crore to offer for both parts' streaming rights. Well, JioHotstar waited for the right moment and made a massive deal with Part 2, securing a deal worth Rs. 150 for just one part. Netflix's budget to acquire the streaming rights to Dhurandhar 1 and Dhurandhar 2 had reportedly been Rs. 130 crore. According to new reports, the budget for the streaming rights to Part 1 of Dhurandhar on Netflix was Rs. 85 crore. An industry insider told Bollywood Hungama:
"With immense faith in their product, Jio Studios waited for the first part release and has secured a humongous deal of Rs 150 crore for the second part alone."
On the other hand, Dhurandhar 2 has been such a sequel that it has kept people on their toes. People have been eagerly waiting for March 19, 2026, to watch the movie in theatres, as that's the only answer to the questions that the viewers have been continuously asking. Some of the questions that might be answered in Part 2 are: What is 'Hamza's history? Who is 'Bade Sahab'? Will 'Hamza' be the successor of 'Rehman Dakait'? And was it he who killed 'Naeem'? And mainly how 'Hamza' is going to take the revenge.
While Dhurandhar Part 1's budget has been said to be around Rs. 250-300 crore, people have been wondering what could be the budget of Part 2. Earlier, a report on NDTV Hindi revealed that it's very much possible that the budget of Part 2 was Rs. 0, reportedly due to a logic that the sequel is already completed, and Aditya Dhar wanted to release it at one go, but due to the long duration, he had to split the movie into two parts. Given that logic, which is yet to be confirmed, it was shared as an assumption that Part 2 of Aditya Dhar's blockbuster is made on Rs. 0.
