Spider-Man: Brand New Day arrived in theatres after a long wait on July 30, 2026. The appearances of new characters from Marvel have already grabbed a lot of attention. However, people are also questioning whether 'Daredevil,' also known as 'Matt Murdock,' has appeared in the film to help 'Peter Parker' once again, after helping to have the charges against him dismissed in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

Has 'Daredevil' returned to help 'Peter Parker' in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

'Matt Murdock,' portrayed by Charlie Cox, built a separate fan base among Marvel fans over the years after appearing in three seasons of Daredevil. The show was originally released on Netflix in 2015 and later moved to Disney+ in 2022.

The character disappeared for three years after the end of Daredevil Season 3 and surprised the audience with a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Notably, 'Peter Parker’s' identity was revealed by 'Mysterio' in Spider-Man: Far From Home, leading to his arrest along with his friends and aunt, 'May Parker.' 'Matt Murdock' helped to drop the charges at the beginning of the film and was not seen in the film again.

Considering that 'Peter Parker' is facing a new threat in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have frequently believed that 'Matt Murdock' might return to save the superhero once again. For the unversed, Charlie Cox has dismissed the claims over the last few years.

However, fans were not ready to believe the news since Andrew Garfield also did the same before No Way Home, and people were shocked to see him joining Tom Holland’s 'Spider-Man' along with Tobey Maguire to stop the bad guys. But the situation is not the same this time. Charlie Cox was telling the truth, and he is not in Brand New Day.

Outside the MCU, the Marvel shows that originally came on Netflix years ago introduced multiple characters. All of them teamed up with each other in The Defenders, where they defeated 'The Hand' by the end of the show.

Among the supporting characters, there was 'Claire Temple,' a nurse who provided medical help to the superheroes. The character was introduced in the first season of Daredevil in 2015. The role was played by Rosario Dawson, who revealed at the Daredevil panel in GalaxyCon 2026 that she shot for a sequence in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. However, the scene was removed in the end. She said:

“I even shot a scene in the new Spider-Man movie, but I got cut out.”

Dawson’s recent remarks line up with multiple earlier reports suggesting the character would show up in an MCU film. Fans have been hoping to see her back for a long time, as she was last seen in the second season of Luke Cage.

What’s notable is that the same source that first said Rosario Dawson was in Spider-Man: Brand New Day also pointed to 'Claire' appearing in the third season of Daredevil: Born Again. That means her return is still very much possible, especially with so many other characters from the Netflix Marvel shows expected to pop up in the upcoming Disney+ series.

Meanwhile, photos and videos from the set of Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 have already shown 'Iron Fist,' 'Elektra Natchios,' 'Luke Cage,' and 'Jessica Jones' joining Daredevil in 2027. This means that 'Claire' also might return in the third season of the show. This is also believed to be a reason why she was not seen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
