The singer recalled an incident from their childhood when they had an eye examination. Britney claims that they both lied about needing glasses, without any problems with their eyesight. In fact, she also made some comments about her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, and her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears.
Britney Spears recently shared a series of Instagram posts and a video of herself dancing to Chris Isaak's song, Baby Did A Bad Bad Thing, in a black bodysuit. She also encouraged her followers to always protect their hearts. The singer also described eyes as "the most exquisite windows to the soul." However, Britney mentioned that her left eye has blurry vision.
The singer then recalled that she once took her sons, Sean, 21, and Jayden, 20, for eye examinations on the same day nearly six years ago. According to Britney, they both picked out glasses with large black frames. But their doctor told them that they had perfect vision with no need for glasses. Britney said that she initially believed her sons when they appeared to want glasses for school. In fact, she also wondered if they simply wanted a cool pair. In her words:
"They didn't even need glasses,' as their 'doctor said they had perfect vision, so they lied, and of course, I believe, and always wondered, don't they want a cool pair for school???"
The singer also spoke about her own reading glasses that she called red with small lenses. However, now she has decided to keep living with the blurriness because of the amount of hurt she has seen in life. She added that she was also trying to learn Braille and rebuild the ability to trust people.
For those who don't know, Britney's latest comments come at a time when there is already distance between them. The mother-son bond became strained after she parted ways with her ex-husband, Kevin Federline. He was granted primary custody of the boys after her divorce. Still, things became complex over the duration of Britney's 13-year conservatorship that ended in November 2021.
Still, the tension became public in 2022 when Jayden discussed his bond with his mother in an interview. He mentioned that he hoped they could repair their bond one day. None of her sons attended her wedding to Sam Asghari in the same year. Later, in 2023, Kevin and the boys moved to Hawaii, which created more distance between the singer and her sons.
Previously, Britney had spoken about how painful it was for her as a mother to stay away from her kids. She also claimed that she had to wait for long periods without seeing her kids. Meanwhile, Kevin offered his perspective on the family situation. Some news reports recently suggested that Britney resumed contact with her sons. In fact, Jayden also made efforts to spend time with her.
Apart from talking about her sons, Britney also recalled her difficult bond with Kevin and her younger sister, Jamie Lynn Spears. The singer, in her recent Instagram post, expressed her anger over how she thinks that her family treated her during and after her conservatorship.
She specifically mentioned that Jamie did not allow her to hold her daughter, Ivy, during a visit to Louisiana amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Britney also claimed that her family was making decisions behind her back, but she still worked to support them. In another post, she shared an image from the 2003 film Uptown Girls featuring a young Dakota Fanning and wrote:
"I will find a new family!!!"
