According to reports, the couple called it quits after just one year of marriage. Earlier, in 2019, the model-turned-real-estate-agent accused her then-husband of cheating.
In a recent episode of The Viall Files Podcast, Bre Tiesi shared a rare insight into her former marriage to her ex-husband, Johnny Manziel. Bre said that she and Johnny went through many difficulties during their marriage and separation. After getting divorced, the duo stopped talking to each other for several years. However, she believes that people should take responsibility for their mistakes, apologize, and have mature conversations to resolve problems. She said:
"I mean, we went through a lot. We didn’t talk for years after our divorce. I’m very big on, if you can take accountability and apologize and be an adult and talk things out, I’m happy to move forward."
Bre shared there was a time when she and Johnny loved each other and got married. The model-turned-real-estate-agent explained that after their separation, she learned that she did not want to get married. She also said she didn't want to be in a serious relationship. She called their divorce her 'biggest lesson'. She added that they were toxic. Explaining it further, Bre said:
"We were very toxic. It was not a healthy thing, and I think I learned a lot about myself. I had a lot of self-reflection because of that."
Bre Tiesi and Johnny Manziel first began dating in 2016. The duo got engaged after less than a year of dating. In March 2017, Manziel proposed to Tiesi during a trip to Paris. According to reports, the former couple got especially close during a trip to Miami in December 2016. At the time, Manziel told TMZ that Bre was an amazing girl who stayed by his side through thick and thin.
The football player told the outlet that he proposed with a diamond ring and a bouquet of roses in Paris. A year after getting engaged, Manziel and Tiesi tied the knot in March 2018 in a private wedding ceremony at a California courthouse. However, they kept their wedding a secret at first. At the time, a source close to Manziel confirmed the wedding news to PEOPLE.
The source also added that the model-turned-real-estate-agent had been a stabilizing presence in Manziel's life as he dealt with the fallout of his career and reputation. However, fans of Bre and Johnny were shocked when the former accused the latter of cheating almost exactly a year after getting married. In a since-deleted post, Bre wrote:
"U been married? U been betrayed? I don’t do betrayal for a person I was devoted to, period. Vows were broken f--- money and f--- u and every other loser on here."
According to an insider, the drama began after the model-turned-real-estate-agent went on vacation to Bali, Indonesia, and when she returned, she deleted all the photos of her and Manziel off her Instagram after finding out he was cheating on her. A second source added that the two had been fighting 'like cats and dogs' since her return due to the alleged infidelity.
Soon after, Manziel confirmed in an interview with TMZ Sports that the two had split up and filed for divorce. Manziel and Bre finalized their divorce in November 2021.
