Add BollywoodShaadis on GoogleMelissa Rycroft rose to fame with her stint on The Bachelor Season 13. Since then, she has made a name for herself as a TV personality, host, and dancer. However, at present, she is making headlines for her run-in with the law. Recent reports reveal that she has been arrested on charges of driving while in an intoxicated state. This is not the first time that Melissa has been arrested for DWI; she was previously arrested in late 2025.
Melissa Rycroft was arrested for a DWI in September 2025. At the time, Melissa allegedly told Texas police officers that a driver had hit her car and fled the scene, but an eyewitness contradicted her report. The Tarrant County police revealed that the Bachelor alum had “bloodshot eyes” and “slurred speech” with a “slight odor of a metabolized alcoholic beverage” on her breath.
The incident had left both Melissa’s car and a nearby tree damaged. When police searched her car, they allegedly found “fresh droplets of colored liquid substances and spilled liquids inside the vehicle.” While Melissa was taken into custody on suspicion of a DWI, she was released on bond just eight hours later after posting USD 1,000 bail with a promise to appear in court.
A few days after her arrest, a fan who went through a similar situation to the reality star left a supportive comment for Melissa Rycroft under one of her Instagram posts. They wrote:
"I made the same mistake over two years ago because of a perfect storm of bad life events. There's no excuse, but it happened. Don't ever forget that you are beautiful, loved, and blessed."
Melissa's post was likely not intended to make headlines, as she was only trying to wish someone good luck for their performance to their school’s still team. Nonetheless, the post blew up after she responded to the supportive fan by admitting that she was “struggling” since the DWI arrest. Melissa wrote:
"Life really sucks right now, and I'm struggling, but I'm trying to march forward. Thank you for the sweet words in what seems like a world of negativity."
Following her arrest, Melissa's attorney Bret Martin released a statement on her behalf, reminding everyone that it is imperative we closely look at the circumstances before any conclusions are drawn. They added:
"I want to remind the public of the fundamental principle of our justice system…every individual is presumed innocent until proven guilty. We as a society have gotten completely away from this fundamental concept. My client was arrested on the allegation of Driving While Intoxicated. An arrest is no indication of guilt."
However, Melissa Rycroft pleaded guilty to the 2025 DWI just a few months ago, in August 2026. She received 20 months of probation and was ordered to pay roughly USD 2,000 in fines and court costs. Additionally, Melissa was ordered to complete 36 hours of community service and a DWI education course and participate in a substance abuse evaluation.
Melissa Rycroft is currently on probation, under conditions that she is prohibited from consuming alcohol or using prohibited substances. Despite this, and less than three months after her guilty plea for her first DWI, Melissa Rycroft has been charged with her second DWI.
According to reports, she was charged with driving while intoxicated and with a driver’s license that was invalid due to a prior conviction or suspension for financial responsibility. She was also charged in connection with a vehicle collision that resulted in damage costing less than USD 200. Tarrant County jail records show that Melissa Rycroft was arrested and booked on November 1, 2026.
