The ‘70s model-turned-actress, Zeenat Aman, was considered a trendsetter back in those days. All thanks to her, Bollywood could witness the growth of westernised look and style. Zeenat was one of the most popular actresses back then, and to date, people are fans of the veteran actress due to her grace. Recently, the 72-year-old took to her Instagram account to share her thoughts on ageing.
Zeenat Aman shared a black-and-white picture of herself on March 13, 2024, on her Instagram feed. In the picture, she was wearing an animal-printed top paired with black pants as she channelled her inner ‘Griselda’. She began her long note by saying that people often comment that the actress has aged gracefully. Zeenat further added that stardom is geared specifically towards this purpose, and physically, it is not something very extraordinary as stars have a team of people to look after them. She penned:
“I am often told that I have aged gracefully. On a physical level, it isn’t that extraordinary. The rarified atmosphere of stardom is geared precisely towards this purpose. Any “star” you see has a team of people in the wings - nutritionists, personal trainers, makeup artists, hair stylists, clothes stylists, dermatologists, dentists, sometimes cosmetic surgeons and more - working frantically to smooth their hair, erase their wrinkles, cinch their waist, and doll them up, all while the star themself projects nonchalance.”

Further in the caption, Zeenat Aman mentioned that ageing is more challenging emotionally. Moreover, she talked about her opinion on being “on trend” and how it invites clout chasers. The actress, who has worked in films such as Hare Rama Hare Krishna, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Don, Qurbani, and Insaf Ka Tarazu, said that she wished most people would leave the antics of staying relevant in their youth, but that ain’t the case. Zeenat Aman added:
“Now ageing gracefully in emotion and conduct. That’s the tricky one. I know that being famous, or “on trend” as they say, invariably invites clout chasers and those desperate for a modicum of your relevance to rub off on them any which way. So what if it involves blatant lies! It’s just surprising when such behaviour comes from someone you expected better from. I wish I could say most people leave these idiotic antics behind in their youth, but alas that’s not the case. Oh well, nothing really new here. It’s the same story, just a different year.”
Several renowned names and netizens complimented Zeenat Aman’s thoughts in her recent post. One user said, “Conduct. A rarely used word nowadays. Thank you Zeenat for writing these pieces. On March 2, 2024, Zeenat Aman penned another of her long posts and revealed an anecdote about her son. In her post, she talked about how once one of her sons, was ready to take revenge on someone who used some colourful words for the actress. Zeenat added she stopped her son from doing so and instead talked to him about men, women and the ways of the world.
