Zareen Khan is one of the most stunning actresses in the entertainment industry. The gorgeousness rules over millions of hearts with her amazing acting skills and jaw-dropping looks. Zareen, who is known for her remarkable weight loss journey, has struggled hard to make a name for herself in the Hindi film industry. Lately, she has been in the headlines for an alleged cheating case. And now, her lawyer issued an official statement and gave clarification on the matter.
On September 17, 2023, a Kolkata court issued an arrest warrant against Zareen Khan in an alleged 2018 cheating case. And now, finally, her lawyer issued an official notice and gave clarification on the matter. In the statement, the lawyer, on behalf of Zareen stated that the arrest warrant issued against the actress was nothing but a result of miscommunication. Further, the lawyer stated that the actress has been receiving constant security in the case from the court itself. The statement can be read as:
"I, for and on behalf of my client Ms. Zareen Khan, would like to categorically place on record as under: That any warrant “inadvertently issued” by the Ld. Magistrate against my client, grossly appears to be a result of “some miscommunication”, as my client had on a continuous basis, been given protection by the Hon’ble High Court of Calcutta, in the said matter."

Further, the two-page official statement by Zareen's lawyer also revealed that the actress has been a victim of fraud. Elaborating more on it, her lawyer stated that the organisers of the event deceived the actress by portraying that the government authorities of West Bengal were organising the Kali puja. As per the official statement, the actress was pressurised by the organisers to come ‘totally unescorted' at the event, which made her suspect the fraud. Zareen's lawyer also claimed that she was about to take the flight when she realised that the event management company was ‘fooling her through criminal impersonation.' For the unversed, in 2018, Zareen was expected to perform at a Durga puja event in Kolkata. As per the media reports, the actress didn't show up at the event. Following which, the event management company filed a case against the actress over the failure of her absence in 6 Kali puja programs in Kolkata. Moreover, as per the report, the actress had also missed 24 Parganas in West Bengal. A charge sheet was even filed against Zareen, and she was also summoned by Kolkata police for questioning. As per the reports, the actress didn't appear in court for the hearings, nor did she appeal for bail, owing to which, the court had to issue an arrest warrant.

Soon after the Kolkata court issued an arrest warrant against Zareen, media personnel contacted the actress. In a conversation with India Today, she opened up about the arrest warrant and said that she has no clarity on the same. Mentioning that she is surprised by the news, the actress said:
"I am sure there is no truth to this. I am suprised too and am checking with my lawyer. Only then will I be able to give you some clarity. In the meantime, you can speak to my PR."
