The legendary playback singer Kumar Sanu, is one of the most loved singers of Bollywood. Apart from Hindi films, he has sung in many other languages like Bengali, Marathi, Nepali, Assamese, Bhojpuri, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil and Odia. Besides his professional life, Kumar Sanu is also known for his controversial personal life.
Be it his rumoured affairs with Bollywood actresses or his two marriages, Kumar Sanu’s personal life has often gained the limelight. In a recent interview with Zoom, the singer opened up about the complicated relationship he shares with his first wife, Ria and their son, Jaan. When the host of the show asked Kumar Sanu about the tumultuous relationship he shares with his first wife and their son, Jaan, the singer replied that in any relationship, efforts are made from both ends.

He also stated that he and his son, Jaan, were not able to build a rapport with each other because the efforts were not made from both sides. Elaborating on the same, he stated:
“If someone thinks I am the enemy, then I will also start thinking the same. But definitely I must say that Jaan is a very good singer. He is a very good talent and wo ek din kaamyab honge. When people come and tell me that your son sings well, I feel very good. But we don’t have any relationship today because no efforts were made from his side.”
In the same conversation, Kumar Sanu also talked about getting hatred from people on social media for his complicated relationship with Jaan and his mother. In his words:
“There are many people who abuse me on social media for divorcing and having complicated relationship with Jaan and his mother. Earlier it used to be a lot, but with time, it reduced.”

Kumar Sanu’s personal life has been very controversial as he was rumoured to be dating many B-town beauties. From a fling with actress, Kunika Lal to an affair with the gorgeous Meenakshi Seshadri, the singer often hit the headlines. It was in the late 80s when he got married to Rita Bhattacharya, and the couple was blessed with three kids, Jessy, Jeeko and Jaan. However, the couple divorced in 1994, as Rita felt that Kumar had another woman in his life except her. On their separation, Rita retained the custody of their three children.
He later got married to Saloni Bhattacharya, who belonged to a Bikaneri family in Rajasthan. The couple was blessed with two daughters, Shannon and Ana. They currently reside with their mother in London, which is now their permanent home.
On the professional front, Kumar Sanu is currently judging the singing reality show Indian Idol season 14.
