Vivek Oberoi, one of the most talented actors in the industry, needs no introduction. The actor started his career by debuting in Ram Gopal Varma's film, Company, by which he received immense success and praise for his masterclass acting performance. Soon after, he proved his acting mettle in several other movies, such as Road, Dum, and Saathiya, among so many others. Although there's no doubt that Vivek is still hailed by his fans for his power-packed performances, the actor couldn't reach the stage of superstardom. Vivek recently opened up about the same and talked about certain external forces that took a toll on his career.
In a recent interview with Mashable Middle East, Vivek Oberoi opened up about being sidelined in the industry. The actor stated that getting failure in one film is okay and different. But it is really very frustrating to know that the same thing will happen again and again and that one will be manoeuvred or managed out of a job or crushed without ever having the opportunity to show themselves. Vivek mentioned:
"If something bad, like your film’s failure, has happened, that’s one thing. But the feeling of being so helpless when you know it is going to happen again and again, and that you are going to get manoeuvred or manipulated out of work, or crushed and not even get the opportunity to prove yourself, that is very frustrating. I personally think there’s nothing worse than feeling completely helpless. You know something’s happening, but you can’t do anything about it."

In the same interview, Vivek was asked if he had any idea about who was behind deliberately ensuring that he remain unsuccessful in achieving superstardom. To this, the actor mentioned that he had the idea about the same as it's a small industry, it's nothing but an open secret. Talking about the same line, Vivek shared:
"Of course I do. It’s a small industry, and it’s an open secret.”
Further, in the same interview, Vivek Oberoi mentioned what these tough days taught him. The actor shared that he learned to be a good and humble, kind and helpful human being. Elaborating more on the same, Vivek mentioned:
"But you have to deal with it. Those things taught me to be a good person and a good human being, to be humble, nice, and helpful. And not to abuse the position of power I am in. Some people have an arrogance about being nice. They develop that also, there’s a righteousness around it. It’s a disease, you have to stay away."
In the same interview, Vivek Oberoi was asked if he wished to produce a film one day. To this, the actor expressed his desire to do so. Vivek also mentioned an incident when he made a regrettable choice to invest in a company.

For the unversed, some reports claimed that Vivek Oberoi had been cheated of a huge amount of Rs. 1.55 crores by his trusted business partners. The actor reportedly invested a huge amount of money in the production company, Anindita Entertainment, which was entrusted to the actor's business partners. Sanjay Saha, his mother Nandita Saha, and Radhika Nanda. But it turned out that Sanjay Saha had been using the company's money for various personal uses, including paying the life insurance premium for his mother. Another trusted partner, Radhika Nanda, also reportedly used a hefty amount of the company's money for her personal use.
