Vidya Balan is undoubtedly one of the most phenomenal actresses in Bollywood. She has made some impeccable contributions to the film industry, and her stunning filmography is just the proof. Apart from Bollywood, Vidya has equally taken part in regional language films as well. She is known for her old-world beauty, and her pleasing personality makes her an instant fan favourite. In her personal life, she is married to film producer, Siddharth Roy Kapur. Currently, Vidya is busy with the promotions of her upcoming film, Neeyat.
During a recent interview with Curly Tales, Vidya Balan looked back at her life as a teenage girl all throughout her growing years in the locality of Chembur in central Mumbai. She mentioned how this part of the city is well-known to have produced some of the hottest divas of Bollywood. She revealed that she had lived nearly 31 years in Chembur and was an alma mater at St Anthony’s Girls High School. Remembering her school days, Vidya also spoke about a fond encounter with her school senior, Shilpa Shetty, who had taught her how to play the sport of basketball. In her words:
“Shilpa Shetty was my senior by a couple of years. She was always the hottie. I remember she was also a basketball player and my mom one day decided that I should play basketball. At six in the morning, I was sent off to play basketball and there were already murmurs that Shilpa might be joining the movies. She was so sweet, I will never forget, she taught me how to dribble the ball. I thought now I know everything and told my mom, I have learnt, I don’t have to go early morning from tomorrow.”

Going further in the interview, Vidya also spoke about another hot actress, Malaika Arora whom she had frequently seen passing by her lane in her childhood. Vidya added that the former belonged to a different school than hers, and she would come in her lane to take French tuitions. Moreover, she also emphasised how boys would await her arrival in the lane at a certain point of time. She mentioned:
“There was also Malaika Arora. She was from another school, but she would walk down the lane at a particular time for her French tuition, which was on my lane, and all the boys would be sitting out at that time, waiting for Malaika to pass! Just Chembur has produced too many hotties, what to do!”
In one of her recent interviews with YouTuber, Ranveer Allahabadia, Vidya Balan opened up about why initially, she never thought of getting married in her life. She mentioned that the prime reason behind such a feeling was the few unpleasant relationships that she had in the past, which ultimately did not turn out well. Moreover, she also added how at a certain age, she started to feel lonely even after gaining mammoth successes.

In the same interview, Vidya also opened up on her first meeting with her husband, Siddharth Roy Kapur and added how her perception of men changed randomly on meeting with him. She mentioned that it was a case of ‘lust at first sight’ for her, and ultimately, it was Siddharth who had made the first move.
