Tabu, who is often referred to as an ageless beauty is one of the most versatile actresses of B-town. In an era where actresses had done commercial cinema, Tabu dared to take risks with complicated women-oriented characters. Be it playing the character of a suicide bomber in Maachis or getting into the skin of a prostitute for her role in Chandni Bar, Tabu has done justice to all her characters.
Recipient of two National Awards and several other accolades, Tabu is still considered one of the most bankable actresses in Bollywood. Talking about her personal relationship, Tabu has been linked to many actors, but her relationship with Telugu superstar, Nagarjuna has always garnered a lot of limelight. Tabu's love life has been more about the downs, and after some failed relationships, she is still single at 51.
Tabu is ageing like a fine wine and the actress often gets a lot of compliments for her beauty. The actress, who can give any Bollywood actress a run for their money, talked about the secret of her beauty in an interview with Film Companion.
Revealing how she once brought a cream worth Rs. 50,000, the Cheeni Kum actress stated:
“Koi secret nahi hai. Mithali, my makeup artist, was telling me, ‘Ma’am, skin is looking good, some home nuska you are doing or what?’ Some days, I’ll tell her that I put coffee here, and some plant there, and she’ll say, ‘You can’t do that, you have to use this cream’, and she’ll suggest some Rs. 50,000 cream. Ek baar khareed liya, bas. Aage nahi khareedungi.”
In the same interview, Tabu revealed not doing anything particular to stay beautiful but likes to present herself in a certain way.
Talking about the same, she stated:
“There’s nothing that I consciously do for my face and all, but of course, I’m aware and conscious that I better look a certain way. I will not purposely ruin anything that takes away from… But that’s with everyone, even if you’re not an actor. Everyone wants to look good and maintain a certain level of being presentable, and fit, and healthy, and mentally there. I try my best.”
Despite keeping her personal life, private and maintaining a safe distance from the media, Tabu has often spoken about love, marriage and relationships in her interviews. Tabu believes that 'single' isn't a bad word and accepts that she has learnt her love lessons in a rather hard way. In a throwback interview with the Hindustan Times, Tabu had said:
"I do not think single is a bad word. There may have been a stigma attached to being single in the past, but not anymore. Your happiness comes from many things unconnected with the status of your relationship. On your own, you can deal with your aloneness, but with a wrong partner, what could follow would be worse than any kind of loneliness."
On the work front, Tabu will be next seen in the film, Khufiya!
