Now, in a conversation with Twinkle Khanna on The Icons on Tweak India, Sushmita Sen opened up on being an adodtive parent and shared how people tell her how to bring up her daughters, Alisah and Renee. When she was asked if it took her time to form a bond with her daughters, she agreed and shared that she got a lot of advices from people and added that she finds it annoying. In her words:

“Yes. it does. You grow a connection. When you're an adoptive parent everybody in the world thinks they have a business of telling you how to raise your child, because tumhe nahi aata hain. Maybe they'll tell me something that I should know because they have experience, but it still happens! They still think that they can tell me how best to raise my children because they're adopted. I find that extremely annoying and I have to spiritually awaken inside to forgive that sometimes.”

Sushmita also recalled how she was very careful with her elder daughter, Renee as she was quick sick and unfit for adoption. Talking about how she used to run to the hospital every time her baby girl had fallen sick, the actress shared:

"Renee was quite a sick baby and was unfit for adoption. She had bronchial water in her lungs and her growth was too small for a six month old kid. I was very careful with her. My mother used to tell me that I was overreacting and I can’t run to the doctor every time the baby got a little sick. But I couldn't help."

Further in the conversation, Sushmita also opened up about how her motherly instinct had once saved her daughter, Renee’s life when she was a baby. She recalled the one time when she was with Renee at a shoot and mentioned that she had seen that Renee was wheezing. Sushmita added that she had taken her car and had straight away gone to the hospital. Talking about the same, she said:

“So we were at a shoot, and after the packup, I came to my room and Renee was sleeping in her cribe. I touched at her nose, as I didn't want to wake her up but I wanted to feel her.  As soon as I did that Renee looked at me and cried, and then I knew something was wrong. I picked her up and I could feel her wheezing. That was it. We rushed to the hospital and stayed there for weeks. My baby almost died that night and that was just an instinct of a mother that saved her."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Sushmita was last seen in the web series, Aarya 2.
