Sunny Deol's son, Karan Deol has etched his name in the hearts of millions, courtesy of his amazing acting skills and pleasant personality. The actor walked in his father's footsteps and made his Bollywood debut with the film, Pal Pal Dil Ke Paas, in 2019. In a recent interview, Karan opened up about the experience of his first film and the challenges faced by actors from filmy backgrounds. He also shed light on how his family got their dues after the success of Gadar 2. For the unversed, Gadar 2 crossed the Rs. 600 crore mark at the box office.
In an interview with ETimes, Karan Deol opened up about his family getting their dues in their industry after the success of his father, Sunny Deol's film, Gadar 2. Talking about the same, the actor mentioned it took 22 years for his father to achieve the success that he got after Gadar 2. Mentioning that Sunny's journey in the industry has been a source of inspiration for him, Karan stated that he is still in his struggling phase. In his words:
"My father saw this kind of success after 22 long years with Gadar 2. That has taught me the importance of being patient. With so much competition in the industry, it is difficult to find work unless you prove yourself. I am yet to do that... I’m still struggling and looking for work. Initially, I’d get frustrated because at this age, you want to work instead of just sitting around, but I’m learning to be patient."

Further, in the same conversation, Karan added that it feels surreal to see his father, Sunny Deol finally getting his due. The actor added that there's nothing more precious than seeing his father achieve success. Karan mentioned that it was disheartening to see his dad keep trying despite getting nothing in return. Karan stated that now Sunny is happy, which he was not for a long time. He said:
"More than anything, this success my father is seeing was long overdue. After seeing everything that he has been through, I cannot express how happy I am to see him enjoy his success. For an actor with such a large body of work, it was frustrating to see him keep trying so hard. But he has always been patient. He believed that there would be a breakthrough. It feels surreal to see him finally getting his due. Now, he is relaxed and happy, which he hasn't been for a long time and it is so nice to see that."
In the same conversation, Karan also spoke about the challenges faced by actors from filmy backgrounds. Talking more about it, he mentioned that the profession of acting comes with fame, adulation and scrutiny. Karan added when a star kid joins the industry, people try to pull them down. Mentioning that he gets affected by the hateful comments and reviews, Karan stated that one starts questioning one's own talent.

Karan also talked about his wife, Drisha and mentioned that she is his pillar of strength. The actor added that she has been with him through his ups and downs and always stood with him. Karan also stated that Drisha gives him confidence when he does not believe in himself. In his words:
"We dated for ten years before tying the knot, she has seen me go through ups and downs and has always stood by me. Drisha instilled confidence in me when mine wavered. She has brought a lot of change and happiness in my life."
