And now, once again, something similar happened as an old video of the actress surfaced online.
On August 1, 2023, an old video of Sonam Kapoor surfaced on the discussion platform, Reddit. In the video, the actress can be seen gracing Karan Johar's talk show, Koffee With Karan, along with her father, Anil Kapoor. Further, in the video, we can see the diva talking about her films and fashion choices. Talking about the same, Sonam stated that she catered the masses with her films and they consider her as a regular girl. On the other hand, her fashion choices served major goals for the classes, who read Vogue etc. In her words:
"The kind of movies that I do, whether it is Raanjhanaa, whether its Mausam, whether its Bhag Milkha Bhag, whether its And I Hate Love Story, they are all girl next door or they are all real girls, that's what the thing is the masses love me as a regular normal girl, but the classes who read Vogue, who see Koffee With Karan or whatever, they like me as a fashion icon. So I think I am catering to both sides."

Soon after Sonam's video went viral on Reddit, the internet users flooded the comment section with their hilarious reactions. Many even took a dig at the actress for calling herself a fashion icon. While one internet user wrote, "I can safely say for both masses and classes that they would like it more for her to stop talking," another one commented, "How much can someone be disillusioned about themselves. It's like me thinking at 8 years old that I will save my school from a terrorist attack." One more internet user reacted to the video and write, "Sonam at her peak delusion era! It's amazing how these nepos are so far removed from the reality." Another comment can be read as, "Kitni delusional hai yeh, baap re!"

She mentioned that people have the perception that actors with good looks are not good in their skills. However, soon after Sonam's video went viral on Reddit, internet users started flooding the comment section of the post with their hilarious reactions. On March 7, 2023, Sonam had attended King Charles III’s coronation concert. At the concert, she was introduced as one of the biggest actors in Bollywood. She began her speech with a namaste and talked about India’s cultural diversity. Moreover, Sonam even introduced Steve Winwood, who performed a modern version of his iconic song, Higher Love accompanied by a 70-piece orchestra. However, as soon as Sonam’s speech was shared on social media, netizens mercilessly trolled the actress. Many even termed it as ‘embarrassing’.
