Gauri Khan met Shah Rukh Khan when he was a nobody. He was struggling to make a foothold in the Bollywood industry, and it was her love and constant support that made him the most successful star of the glamour world.
Shah Rukh was just 18 when he met Gauri for the first time at a party. Bowled over by her beauty, Shah Rukh could not resist asking her for a dance. However, he followed Gauri to Mumbai, without knowing her whereabouts, and after a frantic search, he found her at the seashores of Mumbai. After facing a lot of issues in their relationship, be it their inter-religion love or his possessive nature, Shah Rukh and Gauri's love for one another had surpassed all, and the two tied the knot on October 25, 1991.

Shah Rukh Khan often shares anecdotes from his married life, and we love the way he shares funny episodes from his life. Once, Shah Rukh Khan graced filmmaker, Farah Khan’s talk show, Tere Mere Beech Mein, where he talked about his wife, Gauri and revealed how she never brought any gifts for him. When asked the reason behind the same, the actor said:
“She gives an excuse saying that 'what should I gift a man who has everything including me'."
In the same conversation, Shah Rukh Khan recalled a funny incident that happened to him in London. Elaborating on the same, he said:
“And once I remember I had a spine injury, so I had to stay in London for a couple of months. So, I went to the clothing store and bought a T-shirt but it was big. So, I thought it was not right to wear.”

Later, Shah Rukh told Gauri to return the T-shirt and get some cotton T-shirts for him. When Gauri returned, she informed Shah Rukh that the shop didn’t take the T-shirts back. During his stay in the hospital, his two friends came to meet him and revealed what exactly happened with the T-shirts. Sharing details about what he was told, Shah Rukh said:
“Gauri exchanged the t-shirt and took something else but she didn’t purchase anything for you. She said, ‘he’s in the hospital. He won’t require new clothes.’ Instead, she purchased a handbag for herself.”

Shah Rukh Khan dotes on Gauri and never misses a chance to shower his love on her. We all know how films play an important role in Shah Rukh’s life. King Khan had also gone on record, in many media interactions, and stated that if ever he is asked to make a choice between his career and Gauri, he'll leave films for her.
