Sara Ali Khan is one of the talented actresses of her generation. Daughter of actor parents, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh, the starlet has made her way to the top of the ladder in her own merit. Moreover, she is known for her humble and down-rooted personality. For the unversed, she made her debut with the film, Kedarnath, and hasn’t looked back on her career ever since. Currently, the diva is busy with the promotions of two of her films, Murder Mubarak and Ae Watan Mere Watan, both of which has received impeccable responses from the audiences.
In a recent interaction with Film Companion, Sara Ali Khan talked about her no-filter, unadulterated personality, which was while quite transparent, but was misinterpreted in the film industry as well. However, the diva mentioned that as a result, it impacted on her career, since she began to choose films based on her heart and not quite literally used her brains. She expressed:
“People saw through me when I was trying to do something that didn’t come necessarily from the heart. Because then, you are leaving yourself open to comparison. Because I have given the audience, the media, just people in general, a very unadulterated, a very honest version of myself, very early in my career. I started feeling very empty. I started feeling very let down by myself. You have to know when to use your brain, which is something I forgot, because I was reliant on the brain constantly that it started replacing the lack of a gut, which can’t happen.”

Earlier, in an interaction with Galatta India, Sara Ali Khan talked about facing a constant sense of scrutiny over her surname. She remarked that it was unquestionably something on which she would never debate or defend for. Sara further added that she was raised in a secular upbringing that respects all religious faiths. In her words:
“I was born to a secular family, in a sovereign, secular, democratic republic. The spirit of standing up against what is wrong is within me. So, if I see it happening to not just me, but anybody around me, I will stand up. My religious beliefs, my food choices, how I decide to go to the airport, that’s my decision, and I’ll never apologise for that.”
Previously, while speaking with the Hindustan Times, Sara Ali Khan revealed that at one point of time, she got irritated to see other actresses trying to copy her style of wearing simple Indian outfits during public appearances or airport visits. On the contrary, the diva stated that her personality and styling comes natural to her, and there isn’t anything pretentious about it. Moreover, she added that when others try to copy it, her fans are intelligent enough to understand it,so, it is a wasteful mimic.

In an older interview with BollywoodLife, Sara Ali Khan recalled a moment in his career when she got treated differently from filmmakers and other members of the film industry, after some of her films started to flunk at the box office. Talking more about those experiences, Sara shared:
“I remember what 2018 felt like, I felt like I am at the top of the world. I have never seen a love like that before, and then I was brought down like this! Overnight, people used to treat me differently at the dinner tables. From like 'Sara you have to come, to haa ayegi to chalega' it became that"
