After 'Animal' Director, Sandeep Slammed Kiran Rao Indirectly, Aamir Khan's Apology Video Resurfaces

Sandeep Reddy Vanga has been giving unfiltered interviews trying to justify the misogyny in his films, such as Kabir Singh and Animal look normal. Recently, when Kiran Rao slammed Sandeep Reddy Vanga for normalising stalking and misogyny in his films, the latter made sure to give a befitting reply. Without taking a direct name, he pointed out how a superstar's second ex-wife called out his movies. He later stated that Aamir is the one, who had almost raped a woman in his film.

Aamir Khan's apology video resurfaced after Sandeep Reddy Vanga pointed fingers at him

Sandeep Reddy Vanga forgot to do his research, as Aamir Khan had earlier apologised for objectifying heroines in Hindi films during an interview with Aaj Tak. Not only this, he had accepted that his films, too, called women an 'item', which was wrong, and he felt ashamed of doing it. He even pointed out how they are not treating women as humans. He was quoted as saying:

"Hindi films have not been responsible enough, especially the way we project men and women. When we show something wrong in the films, we also show that the result of it is something positive. Which is wrong. And we often make the women an ‘item’ in films. Even the songs are like ‘tu cheez badi hai mast mast’. And even I am involved in this and I have done such films. ‘khambe jaisi khadi hai, ladki hai ya chadi hai.’ We are calling women ‘khamba’ but not humans. I am very ashamed of it."

When Sandeep Reddy Vanga brutally slammed Aamir Khan's ex-wife, Kiran Rao

During an interview with Dainik Bhaskar, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, without directly naming Kiran Rao, addressed how she criticised his films, while her ex-husband, Aamir Khan's main character in the film, Dil, had threatened the heroine and almost raped her. The director revealed how his assistant had showed him the article from a superstar's second ex-wife, where she stated that Baahubali and Kabir Singh promoted stalking. He said:

"Some people don’t understand what they are saying. One assistant director showed me the article from this superstar’s second ex-wife where she was saying that Baahubali and Kabir Singh promote misogyny, promote stalking. I think she doesn’t understand the difference between stalking and approaching."

When Ranbir Kapoor's proposal in the film, Animal irked the netizens

A video from the film Animal, wherein Ranbir Kapoor's character, Ranvijay, proposed to his ladylove, Geetanjali, played by Rashmika Mandanna, made rounds on the internet and received a lot of hate. In the scene, Ranbir Kapoor remarked, "Geetanjali you have a big pelvis." To which, Rashima replied, "You mean to say I am fat." Later, the character clarified that he is not calling her fat, but by saying 'you have a big pelvis' meant you can accommodate healthy babies.

The film's director, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, justified his character's dialogue during an interview. He shared that it means that the boy sees the future with his love, and they can get married and have babies. He added that it was a 'compliment'. The interviewer further added that it turns out to be medieval thinking, and it doesn't happen anymore.

As soon as the video went viral, netizens flooded the comments session, expressing their disinterest. One user had written, "Such a disgusting movie .. that's all about violence and disrespect of a woman." Another commented, "New era of asking out a woman." Another one penned, "This guy has lost it." We also stumbled upon a comment which could be read as "This person /director should b banned or charged ... seriously he is sick person don't understand how did actors agreed to it."
