Salman Khan is one of the most popular actors in Bollywood. With immense fandom, the Bhaijaan of Tinseltown never misses a chance to make his fans go gaga over him all over again. For the unversed, Salman is the son of veteran filmmaker, Salim Khan, and his brothers, Arbaaz Khan and Sohail Khan, are also a part of the Hindi film industry for some years now. The actor and his family reside in a lavish bungalow in Mumbai.
Salman Khan attended the 29th edition of the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF), which was hosted at the Netaji Indoor Stadium in Kolkata on December 5, 2023. The event was graced by many eminent personalities, including West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee, Anil Kapoor, Shatrughan Sinha, Sourav Ganguly, and Mahesh Bhatt, among others.

During his speech at the event, Salman Khan amusingly compared Mamata Banerjee's residence to his house in Mumbai. Talking about the same, the actor expressed that he was jealous of her cosy and small abode. Addressing the audience, Salman recalled the day when Anil Kapoor invited him to his house and revealed he kept wondering if the latter did so just to make him jealous. He remarked:
"When Didi invited me to her house, my only thought was, 'I really want to see if her house is as small as they say.' Is it smaller than my house or not? One day, Anil Kapoor invited me over, and he said, 'Let’s go to the first floor.' But there were still four other floors. I think now it has become even bigger. I asked him if he had called me over just to make me feel jealous of his house. Coming back to Didi, I must admit, I'm jealous that her house is actually smaller than mine."
Further, Salman Khan also shared that finding a sitting space becomes a challenge whenever Shatrughan Sinha visits his house. The actor added that he has a modest setup with one room, a small kitchen, and a bedroom on the ground floor of Galaxy Apartments. However, Salman expressed amusement and envy over the fact that Mamata Banerjee has a residence smaller than his. He was heard saying:
"I don’t wish for a smaller house, but she has given me a big complex. It only shows how simple people are and we don’t need that much."

Salman Khan was last seen as the enigmatic RAW agent in the film, Tiger 3, which was released on November 12, 2023, alongside Katrina Kaif and Emraan Hashmi. The film was yet another blockbuster of the Tiger franchise and set historic records globally. Salman has a lineup of films in his kitty, including an untitled action movie directed by Vishnu Vardhan and Tiger vs. Pathaan.
