The mention is of none other than the very popular and talented badminton player, Saina Nehwal. Saina has been in a relationship with her fellow badminton player, Parupalli Kashyap. Both the lovebirds belong to Hyderabad and play the same sport, which is what got them closer.
They are in a relationship for the past 10 years and have managed to keep it under the wraps for long. The two have often been spotted together, but only with their fellow badminton players like Kidambi Srikanth, HS Prannoy and Gurusaidutt. Confirming the wedding date, a source close to the couple had said, “Both families had been planning the wedding for a while now. Now they have finalised the date. In one of the rare interviews about her personal life with TOI, the ace badminton player talked about her love story. Not just this, she also shared some details related to the impending wedding. Saina Nehwal remarked, “We started travelling for bigger tours from 2007-08 onwards. We played tournaments together, trained together and slowly, started paying more attention to each other's matches.” And further added, “In the competitive world that we live in, it is difficult to get close to someone. But somehow we both found it very easy to talk to each other, talk about our matches. Talking about the wedding dates and details, the Padma Shri awardee badminton player stated, “I will get busy with the Premier Badminton League from December 20 and then qualifiers for the Tokyo Games will begin. So this was the only date that we had to get married.” On making her relationship official with her Mr Right, Saina retorted, “We didn't think about marriage before. The career that we pursue is very demanding. It is very important to win tournaments and we didn't want to shift our focus by getting married earlier.” She added, “A player needs treatment and attention just like a baby. At home, I get everything without asking, but this will change once I get married. For the ones who don't know, Saina Nehwal didn't even had to tell her parents about the marriage as she said it was very evident to them. Saina shared, “Bolne ki zaroorat nahi padi (I didn't have to tell them). We used to be together most of the time and my parents also travelled with me, so they understood who I was close to and comfortable with even after my losses.”
