Who said one cannot fall in love all over again, even after 14 years of marital bond? Such is the story of one of this one of the much in love couple, Rajeshwari Sachdev and Varun Badola. After 14 years of taking the ‘great vow’, Rajeshwari recently said in an interview to TOI that “she fell in love with him once again”. The reason being, Rajeshwari and Varun are sharing screen space in a play for the very first time. Shabd Leela, as the play is titled, is a dramatic interpretation of the renowned poet-writer Dr Dharamveer Bharati’s where he writes powerful and romantic love letters to his wife. Sharing more details on how love happened twice with the same person, Rajeshwari shared, “Once we started rehearsing, I fell in love with him once again. As the letters and the words are so beautiful, but the way Varun reads it, I am spellbound. I told him if you would have written even four lines like this for me, I would have been floored”.
Music had first brought the couple together on the sets of Antakshari. Apart from this venture, Rajeshwari and Varun had never shared screen space with each other. Talking about how romantic Varun is, Rajeshwari stated, “Varun has never proposed to me. Everyone just decided that we were getting married. While Rajeshwari is the romantic one in the relationship, Varun believes in ‘old-school romance’. He says, “I have expressed my love for her. But in today’s digital age, you have to update your status every three months, which I cannot do since I am old-fashioned in my ways.” Quite true! Varun further added that both of them are quite a ‘head-strong couple who believes in giving each other space without over-analyzing things’. The couple is blessed with a beautiful daughter, Devagya.
Both Rajeshwari and Varun are renowned performers of the industry. Rajeshwari has worked in movies like Firebrand, Dombivli Return and Samhita. She has even shared screen space in a Hollywood movie, Little Buddha with Keanu Reeves. Varun has been a part of innumerous movies, television and reality shows.
