If reports are to be believed, Pratyusha Banerjee's parents, Soma Banerjee and Shankar Banerjee are still fighting to get justice for their daughter. A few months back, in an interview with, Pratyusha's boyfriend, Rahul Raj had admitted that he is waiting for the day when the court will give him a clear chit in Pratyusha's suicide case. However, the case is reportedly still active in court, and the doting parents are doing everything they can to push the judiciary to a sound and final verdict in their daughter's death case.

During the course of the last six years, Pratyusha's parents slumped into a lot of financial burdens as they've taken numerous loans to keep their legal fight on in court. Once in an interview with Aaj Tak, Pratyusha's father, Shankar Banerjee had talked about the way he and his wife, Soma Banerjee are living in a single-room house after they've spent everything in their legal battle. Reflecting more on the expenses and how hard it has become for them to continue their fight to get their daughter the justice she deserves, Shankar Banerjee had said:

"We are now forced to live in one room. This case took away everything from us. Many times, there has been a situation where we were forced to take loans."
