At the age of 18, Pooja Batra had bagged the crown of Miss India and had soon started walking on the ramp. Within no time, she was counted among the leading models in India. Pooja Batra had gotten married to an orthopedic surgeon, Dr Sonu S. Ahluwalia in Los Angeles, California in 2002. But due to irreconcilable differences, they had filed for divorce in 2011. But love came knocking the door of her heart once again when she had met Don 2 star, Nawab Shah. The couple had gotten married in a close-knit ceremony in Delhi as per the Arya Samaj rituals. Ever since their marriage, the two have been painting the town red with their love.
The gorgeous actress, Pooja turned 44 on October 27, 2020 and her doting husband, Nawab penned an adorable birthday wish for her. He took to his IG handle to share a twinning in black picture with his biwi and wrote, “You always shine like the sun and illuminate the lives of those around you, happy birthday my love... be as special as you are. Love you more everyday.”
In July 2019, Pooja and Nawab had secretly gotten married. In an interview with the Bombay Times, Pooja had talked about their wedding and had revealed, "Nawab and I exchanged vows in Delhi, with only our families in attendance. Our loved ones kept asking us why we were delaying it (the marriage). I was simply going with the flow, but then I realised that he is the man I want to spend the rest of my life with, and there is no point in delaying it any further. So, here we are. When asked about her first meeting with Nawab Shah and how romance had brewed between them, Pooja Batra had revealed that she had known Nawab as a fellow actor but it was a common friend, who had reintroduced them. And it was the right time as both of them were on the same page in terms of emotions and had hit it off instantly.
On July 4, 2020, the lovely couple had completed one year of marital bliss and had taken to their respective social media handles to wish each other. Pooja Batra had taken to her IG handle and had shared some lovely pictures from their intimate wedding ceremonies and had written, “A whole life time can lead to a moment Happy 1st Anniversary #julyisforlovers.” On the other hand, Nawab had shared a gorgeous picture with his soulmate and had written a heart-melting caption which could be read as “The universe gives each of our souls a twin , which is a reflection of our own souls , no mater how far apart these souls are separated , they will always find their way to one another. I love you Pooja. Happy anniversary.”
On May 28, 2020, Pooja had taken to her Instagram handle and had posted a couple of pictures. In one of the pictures, we could see Nawab on his knees while proposing to his ladylove. In the caption, Pooja had revealed how her husband had proposed her in front of his family and it could be read as "Last year today was the day when my hubby @nawwabshah proposed to me in the presence of his Mom and his family.
