Famous Indian actors, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu had fallen for each other during the shooting of the film, Autonagar Surya in 2014. On October 6-7, 2017, Samantha and Chaitanya had got married in a two-day destination wedding in Goa. But, while everyone was waiting for the couple to announce the 'good news', their sudden announcement about their separation, a few days before their fourth wedding anniversary, had left their die-hard fans heartbroken.
The then-power couple, Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu, are concentrating on their respective professional lives now. For the unversed, on October 2, 2021, they had put an end to all the speculations about their divorce by issuing a joint statement on the same. Announcing their separation on their respective Instagram handles, they had shared a post that could be read as:
"To all our well-wishers. After much deliberation and thought, Chay and I have decided to part ways as husband and wife to pursue own paths. We are fortunate to have a friendship of over a decade that was the very core of our relationship which we believe will always hold a special bond between us."

Naga Chaitanya and his ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, had shared the screen on films like Ye Maya Chesave, Manam and Majili, and Autonagar Surya. In an interview with the Hindustan Times, after months of separation, Chaitanya admitted that according to him, he shared the best on-screen chemistry with his ex-wife, Samantha Ruth Prabhu. Naga's statement has become a piece of excellent news for the 'Chaysam' (as their fans fondly named them) fans, who are praying for their reconciliation.
As per the latest developments in Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya's social media handles, another ray of hope had emerged for their fans a few days back. According to reports, Samantha had taken down her Instagram and Twitter posts, which she had posted almost three months ago, announcing her separation from her husband, Naga Chaitanya. However, the post can still be seen on Chaitanya's Instagram and Twitter handle.

In an interview with the Firstpost, Nagarjuna had opened up about his son, Naga Chaitanya and his then-daughter in law, Samantha's separation. He had shared that he was proud of his son, Chaitanya, and the way he had handled his separation. Sharing that Chaitanya was distraught, the doting father had said:
"I am very proud of how calm he remained through it all. He was not provoked into uttering a single word. Like any father, I was very worried about him. But he was more worried about me than I was about him. He would ask me, 'You okay, Dad?' and I'd be like, 'Errr, isn't that what I should be asking you?'"
While promoting the film, Bangarraju, Naga Chaitanya had addressed the reason for his separation with Samantha Ruth Prabhu during a media interaction. Talking about the same, he had shared
"It is ok to be separated. That is a mutual decision made for their individual happiness. If she is happy, then I am happy. So divorce is the best decision in such a situation."
On the work front, Samantha will be next seen in a foreign film, Arrangements of Love, and Naga Chaitanya will be seen in his Bollywood debut film, Laal Singh Chaddha.
