The Salman Khan-hosted reality show, Bigg Boss 17, has been increasing the entertainment quotient since its inception on October 15, 2023. During the course of the show, the audience witnessed numerous fights between the contestants, amidst all the tasks and drama inside the BB House. Now, Munawar Faruqui has garnered the limelight as he made another new revelation about his personal life.

Munawar Faruqui opens up about his mother's death

On the recent Shukravaar Ka Vaar episode, Munawar Faruqui opened up about his mother's death when he was just 13 years old. As Munawar sat for a conversation with his fellow contestants, Rinku Dhawan asked him about the reason behind the former's mother taking her own life. Responding to the same, the comedian revealed that there were many reasons for his mother to take this drastic step.

Munawar Faruqui reveals why his mother committed suicide

Speaking along the same lines, Munawar revealed his mother took her life due to an unhappy married life and being overburdened with debt. He further added that his father had a lot of debt, and his mother also took a loan, which was kind of humiliating. Munawar said:

“Unhappy married life was there, plus karza uss waqt. Dad pe bahut karza tha. Meri mom pe bhi karza tha. It was like humiliating wo time pe.” 

Munawar Faruqui recalls his poverty-stricken days

The 31-year-old rapper also said their family had so much debt that he was forced to leave school and start working instead. Munawar added that although the loan was just Rs. 3500, it felt like a huge sum to pay at that time. Speaking about his food habits back then, Munawar revealed that he ate only chapatis with daal during his childhood. Moreover, if salan rice were prepared for dinner, there would not be a third food item.

When Munawar Faruqui talked about his mom's untimely death due to debt

Earlier, when Munawar appeared on the reality TV show, Lock Upp, he talked about his family and his late mother. In one of the episodes of the show, he also opened up about his mom's death in 2007 and revealed how she never got respect in her house. Talking about his regret of not being with his mother in her difficult time, Munawar revealed:

“My mom made chaklis (a savoury snack) etc. to run our household but things were very different with my father and grandmom. My mom did not get respect in that house. My entire family blamed her for my sister's marriage. My mom had a debt of Rs. 3,500. I still regret why I did not sleep with her, why I didn't reach there earlier and why I did not have Rs. 3,500 at the time.”
