One of the most popular sitcoms, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, which has been one of the most loved shows of Indian television is leading the headlines and for all the wrong reasons. Many artists of the popular comedy show recently came out in the open and discussed the abuse they have been undergoing for years.
It all started when the show's lead actor, Jennifer Mistry Bansiwala, accused Asit of sexual harassment. Then actress, Monika Bhadoriya also made some startling claims about the toxic work culture. Monika Bhadoriya, who played the role of 'Bawri' in the show gave a slight hint about the reason why Disha Vakani, who played the role of ‘Dayaben’, quit the show and never returned.

Talking to Bollywood Bubble, Monika Bhadoriya revealed the kind of abuse each member of the show faced. When asked whether Disha Vakani too had to endure the abuse, she didn’t refuse and stated that although she doesn’t know the exact reason but she too might have endured harassment. In her words:
“Aapko accha koi pay kar raha hai aur koi bula raha hai aapko aur aap nahi aana chahte ho toh yehi reason hogi na aur kya reason ho sakta hai.”
Disha Vakani was one of the most popular characters in the show, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. Her distinct voice in the show gained her huge popularity and got her immense stardom. In 2015, Disha tied the knot with businessman, Mayur Padia and in 2017, the actress embraced motherhood with the arrival of her daughter, Stuti Padiya. After her daughter’s birth, Disha Vakani took a maternity break and never returned to the show.

Even after so many years, the makers of the show couldn’t bring a replacement for Disha, and her fans are eagerly waiting for the actress’ comeback. Producer, Asit Modi has time and again talked about his failed attempt to get Disha back on board to play the most popular character of ‘Dayaben’.
Earlier, Monika Bhadoriya talked about her pathetic condition in the show and the torture she had to deal with. She had to fight for her hard-earned money, and the makers were not ready to release the payment. In an interview with Pinkvilla, she revealed enduring a lot of torture on the show, which even led to suicidal thoughts.
