It has the capability to glue its audiences to their television screen for decades after decades. And one of the most prominent characters in the television soap was 'Dayaben' which was played by Disha Vakani. From her dressing sense which matched Indian women of almost every household, to her signature style of saying, 'Hey Maa Maataji' or 'Tapu Ke Papa', or making a peculiar shape of her mouth while speaking, or just playing her character with utmost simplicity, her fans remembered everything about her.

For the unversed, Disha Vakani had portrayed the character of 'Dayaben' for the first time back in 2008, and had been given unmissable performances for many years. However, in September 2017, she had bid a goodbye to the show for her maternity break, which had got extended into a gap of many years now. Though, according to various media reports, Disha is all set to be seen on the show after four years. However, there is no such sign of the actress making a comeback to TMKOC, making it hard and impossible for her fans to digest the news.

Earlier in a report on Koimoi.com, it was stated that both the makers of the show and Disha were in close contact and were planning for her perfect return to the show. However, unfortunately, the ideas didn't work well and hence, Disha had decided to quit the show permanently once and for all. A source close to the portal had stated:

"After the maternity break, there definitely had been talks regarding the perfect plot to return. Producers had been in touch with Disha, and some on-going negotiations were being worked upon. But unfortunately, things did not materialise, and Disha decided to quit."

It was the time when the fans of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had thought that Disha'a exit from the show was the most heartbreaking news. However, the source had stated another shocking revelation that the show's makers were already aware of Disha's exit from TMKOC for a long time. But they didn't make it official reportedly because of the fear of losing TRPs. The source had further stated,

"It has been long known to the director and producers that Disha Vakani is not returning to Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. The reason behind them not announcing it officially remains a confusion even to many of us."
