Mika Singh has been winning hearts with his hit chartbuster songs. However, last year, he gained new fans with his stint in the reality show, Swayamvar: Mika Di Vohti. He chose his best friend, Akanksha Puri as his partner in the show. However, the rumours of the couple's separation made rounds within a few weeks. Recently, for the first time, Mika Singh opened up about his breakup with Akanksha Puri.
Recently, in an interview with The Times Of India, Mika talked about his breakup with Akanksha Puri. He shared that he had agreed to be part of the reality show, Swayamwar: Mika Di Vohti because he wanted to get married. He added that his friends were also pressuring him to get married. Talking about Akanksha, he shared that when he chose her as a companion, he realised that they were not meant to be together.

Mika further shared that he realised if Akanksha was a singer, he could have collaborated with her and they could have travelled. He added that the show wasn't a sham, and neither was Akanksha's entry into the show planned.
Earlier, in an interview with The Times Of India, Akanksha revealed that she had always been friends with Mika, but never romanced each other. She added that it takes a lot of thought when it comes to marriage. She also revealed that they have been friends for a long time.
In another interview with Bollywood Life, Akanksha Puri also revealed that her current equation with Mika Singh and shared that they are still good friends. Akanksha Puri had said:
"He is busy with his work, and so am I. We are not dating. Yes, we are still good friends. He is someone who has been with me through the years as a buddy. Mika Singh is a genuine human being."
