For the past few days, there has been a lot of buzz around singer, Mika Singh’s television show, Swayamvar Mika Di Vohti. The show, which focused on selecting Mika’s perfect bride began with 14 contestants from different states. In the middle of the show, Mika’s close friend, Akanksha Puri made a wild card entry and won the show, and by the end of the show, Mika chose Akanksha over the other participants.
On July 25, 2022, Mika Singh and Akanksha Puri had made their first public appearance and posed for the shutterbugs. While Mike donned a blue shirt layered with a black coat, Akanksha opted for a pink dress for their first public outing together as a couple. However, a section of social media users trolled them for their mismatched chemistry and even called the show scripted.

In an interview with ETimes, Akanksha Puri reacted to the trolls who called the show scripted. Revealing how she never dated Mika Singh and her entry as a wild card was also not planned, Akanksha said:
“My entry in the show was not planned. In fact, he was surprised when he saw me as a wild card contestant. Mika and I have been friends, but we haven’t dated or romanced each other. Marriage is a big decision, so one has to think a lot before taking the plunge. You can’t get married just after completing some tasks on a show.”
On July 26, 2022, Akanksha had taken to her IG handle and posted drool-worthy pictures with Mika Singh and confirmed the news of winning the show. Dressed in a baby pink lehenga, Akanksha looked stunning in her bridal attire. Whereas Mika donned a black bandhgala with matching pants. The duo looked like a match-made-in-heaven as they posed for pictures. She had captioned the pictures as:
“Here’s to our New Beginnings @mikasingh.”

Earlier, in an interview with ETimes TV, Akanksha Puri had talked about finding love again and expressed her happiness over finding a life partner in her friend, Mika Singh. Akanksha also mentioned that she couldn't wait to paint the town red with her groom-to-be, Mika Singh. Talking about the same, she had said:
"It’s been quite long since I dated someone, I am so happy I have romance in my life now which I was majorly missing. I want to go all out this time. We definitely are a very powerful couple and we are all set to paint the town red with our love story."
On the professional front, Akanksha Puri is riding high after her win in the show, Swayamvar Mika Di Vohti.
